Nicole Richie sure likes to play guessing games with her hair color.

On Monday the 32-year-old posted a photo to Instagram where her hair was a cool looking lavender hue. The beauty was all gussied up in gems and fur to hit Madonna's Oscar party on Sunday.

Though the former reality star has played tricks with her hair color in the past - in February she shared a photo of herself with purple locks but it turned out to be Photoshopped - Kelly Osbourne revealed on Sunday the former Simple Life star had indeed taken the purple plunge.

Richie's new color certainly looked real in three different shots.

In one set up she's standing next to a man who looks just like her husband Joel Madden, but given that her caption is 'Brothers & Sisters' it could be her brother-in-law Benji Madden.

The fashion designer looks stunning in a long white dress with what appears to be silver studs on the waist line.

Though Osbourne's Instagram photo is dark, it does appear that Richie has almost silverish hair.

She posted a photo with the daughter of Lionel Richie and captioned it, 'Guess took the bet & dyed there hair MY color @nicolerichie.'

The color is quite similar to Osbourne's trademark tinge. The Fashion Police star has been coloring her hair a pale hue of purple since early 2012.

Richie, who was blonde in when she co-starred with Paris Hilton in the Simple Life, went snow white for the Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in May of last year.

She has also worn her hair black and brown.
