You've got to role with it: Hilary Duff looks set to return to the screen as she's spotted carrying script

She came to public prominence due to her leading role in Lizzie McGuire before going on to star in numerous films and further TV roles, as well as of course becoming a pop sensation.

But after a short hiatus during which time she gave birth to her son Luca, it seems Hilary Duff is preparing for a screen comeback of some kind.

The 26-year-old was spotted looking excited while carrying a heavily marked script while out and about in LA.

Her blonde hair fell loose around her shoulders, appearing rather un-styled and she kept her make-up to a minimum – showing off her natural beauty.

The script appeared to be scrawled with the name Becky – which would suggest Hilary is auditioning for a new role as she has not been linked to a role with that character name.

Earlier this year it was announced that the pretty blonde had signed on to co-star opposite Sutton Foster in a pilot episode for a sitcom titled Younger, based on a novel by Pamela Redmond Satran.

She is due to play Kelsey, an ambitious 20-something who persuades Foster's character to work in a publishing firm.

The show will be executive produced by Darren Star, the creator of Sex and the City, and is set to air on TV Land with filming to begin in February in New York City.

It looks set to be a busy year for Hilary, who recently split up from her retired ice hockey husband Mike Comrie.

The pair announced their separation in January with a statement from Hilary’s rep which read: ‘Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie have mutually decided to an amicable separation.

‘They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.’

And it seems they have done just that as over the weekend they were seen enjoying breakfast with their little boy.

A spokesperson for Hilary has been contacted regarding the script.
