Mel Gibson's ex Oksana Grigorieva shops at pricey market with daughter Lucia... just weeks after filing for bankruptcy

In February she filed for bankruptcy, claiming to have over $400,000 in debt.

But Mel Gibson's ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva isn't letting that stop her from shopping at the most expensive supermarket in Los Angeles.

The 44-year-old was spotted with her four-year-old daughter Lucia carting bags of groceries from trendy Whole Foods in Studio City on Wednesday.

For her fancy food shopping trip, Oksana kept it casual in a purple T-shirt, black leggings and a pair of white sandals.

The Russian pianist wore her long brown locks down with little makeup and a pair of violet tinted sunglasses. She held on to an iced coffee while pushing her adorable little girl in a shopping cart.

Lucia was decked out in similar fashion to her financially strapped mother with a purple T-shirt, but teamed her look with blue jeans and flip flops. She was looking at an iPad.

The Whole Foods supermarket chain carries only organic and natural foods and is considered to have prices that cost more than the average shop.

Just yesterday it was revealed that Oksana had filed papers claiming she can only afford to pay $372 per month towards debts listed at $438,000.

Oksana's situation was only made worse by a judge who ruled her Lethal Weapon star ex did not have to pay the $375,000 remaining on their settlement after she breached a confidentiality clause by speaking about Mel on Howard Stern's radio show in October.

According to TMZ, she is asking the court to clear the balance of her debts after five years, despite the fact she will have only stumped up $22,320, just five per cent of what she owes.

This amounts to just over one installment of the $20,000 she receives in child support from the Braveheart star to care for their four-year-old daughter Lucia.

Oksana filed for bankruptcy less than four years after knocking back a reported $15m child custody settlement offer from the megarich actor, who is worth an estimated $425m.

The hard-up Russian pianist made the move due to prohibitive legal debts said to be in the range of $250,000.

Previous legal documents filed showed she is claiming she is so broke she has just $10 in cash to her name, and has $48,000 in assets and $438,000 in debts.

Oksana is still receiving $20,000 a month in child support for Lucia, while her former flame Timothy Dalton pays her $2,500 a month for their son Alexander.

A very expensive night of passion for the fathers. Nice little earners.

She gets $22,500 a month to support her two children. Why should she not buy quality food?

She's not supposed to buy groceries?

Someone once told me that even though you file for bankruptcy, it doesn't mean you are actually broke. It just means that the amount of bills owed extremely outweigh the amount of money you make. Is this true?

There is no telling how much money she gets from him. How could she be bankrupt???

Live within your means - you and your child don't need to have the most expensive commodities.

I don't know if I'd call Whole Foods upscale, nor the most expensive market in LA. I think Gelson's prices may be higher. She gets over >20K/month in child support, so I don't think she should be faulted for shopping at WF. I hardly think she's allowed to use her child support to pay her debts that include hefty legal fees. She should be faulted, however, for being greedy! She was offered $15M from Gibson, and she turned that down, only later to receive less than a $1M . I imagine there'll be some tough times when her daughter turns 18 --when the child support payments cease and she no longer gets to live in the house that Gibson is paying for.

If she gets $20k/month, she can afford $200 in groceries, I'd think.

It really shouldn't matter where she shops. She obviously shops at an expensive store and living a lifestyle that she has always been accustomed. She shouldn't be expected to change and become frugal overnight since her financial status from monthly child support is still better than most people. She is a single mother of two celebrity children and trying to make a living. Give her a break instead of ripping her apart. She looks like a great Mom and Timothy Dalton seems to still manage a good relationship with Oksana. I doubt they would continue their relationship if she was truly a monster as portrayed by Mel.
