Michelle Obama is no stranger to changing up her hairstyle, and it appears she has done it yet again with the addition of honey blonde highlights.

The First Lady debuted the new look on Wednesday at the Jessie Trice Community Health Care Center in Miami, where she talked to Affordable Care Act enrollees about how to get insurance.

Looking fashionable in a black and purple striped wrap dress, Mrs Obama showed off her lighter locks, which were styled in chic flowing waves.

The First Lady was also pictured yesterday sporting the new 'do at Yu Yung Public Charter School in Washington, D.C.

She was on a visit to the Chinese immersion elementary school in preparation for her trip to China later this month with her daughters, Malia and Sasha, and her mother, Marian Robinson.

The new look is not a drastic change from her usual hairstyle, but her locks do seem to be getting increasingly blonder.

Indeed, in an appearance on the Today show just last Friday, the 50-year-old sported a more solid brunette hair color as she spoke to host Jenna Bush Hager about body image.

But even this warm brown hue was a change from the darker brunette she flaunted on January 16, just seven weeks ago.

The First Lady was pictured speaking at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on the White House complex, her hair the same dark brown as her eyes.

It was just over a year ago that Mrs Obama first shook up her look by debuting bangs, a change that caused such an uproar that the bangs quickly acquired their own parody Twitter page.

The hairstyle remained until April, when they began to grow out and the First Lady admitted that the style was a little too high-maintenance for her lifestyle.

She said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: 'Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They're starting to grow out, get a little irritating.'

She later elaborated to Parade magazine, explaining: 'You know, it's hard to make speeches with hair in your face!'

Since you can't please all the people all the time, you might as well please yourself. Whether you like it or not Mrs Obama represents the United States. Get over yourselves, you'd soon have something to say if she didn't take care of her appearance.

I don't mean to be rude but I thought it was one of those "ageing" pictures, at first, where the DM publish digitally-enhanced photos of how people will look when they're elderly.
