The black frock featured a peplum style waist detail, while the hem was trimmed in grey feathers- creating a fun feel.

Adding simple touches Kathryn – who plays reporter Jenny Widgeon in the film - wore black stiletto heels and carried a small embellished clutch.

Her brown hair was loosely tied off her face in a casual style – leaving wisps falling around her face which was beautifully made-up with a dash of red lipstick.

He was joined by his wife Amanda Anka, who looked extremely proud of her husband’s latests efforts as they posed on the red carpet together.

Allison Janney, who takes on the role of Dr. Bernice Deagan, was also in attendance, bringing a much needed injection of colour as she wore a hot pink skater style dress.

A spelling bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty.

It originated in the US, however various other countries now do them - the concept has also featured on the small and big screen on numerous occasions over the years.

Bad Words is due for release in the United States on March 14, 2014.
