Aaron Carter isn't wasting any time.

Just two months after Hilary Duff split from husband Mike Comrie, the former Dancing With The Stars contestant has taken to Twitter to let his ex-girlfriend - who he split from 11 years ago - know how much he misses her.

The 26-year-old wrote, 'I'll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don't care what ANY of you think.'

It all started on Wednesday, when Aaron retweeted a photo that called Hilary, who's also 26, 'flawless.'

He showed a closeup photo of the blonde with heavy makeup on.

In a separate message, the former teen pop star then declared his true feelings with the sad message aimed at no one in particular: 'Don't be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever... Like me...'

The guessing game came to an end when a fan asked Aaron straight up if he was referring to Duff, to which he simply replied, 'Sure am.'

Aaron and Hilary dated on and off between 2001 and 2003, when they were barely teenagers.

They were involved in a tumultuous romance, with Aaron also dating Lindsay Lohan at the same time. This led to a reported feud between the two actresses.

In 2003, the young couple broke up for good over rumours that Aaron cheated on the Lizzie McGuire star.

Hilary has yet to respond to his recent public tweets of affection. Instead, she has been spending time with her ex Mike.

The couple split in January but remain close for the sake of their two-year-old son Luca.

And just yesterday, the estranged couple were spotted showing a united front while getting coffee together with their adorable bundle of joy.
