Take That star Gary Barlow has teamed up with Gary Lineker as well as other past England stars to record the squad's song for this summer's World Cup.

Barlow is going from Back For Good to back-four good as he headed into the studio today to work on the as-yet-unnamed track.

Chart stars including Katy B, Mel C and Pixie Lott are among the figures who will also feature on the anthem designed to spur on England's hopes in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

A group of 12 former England players - including the likes of Sir Geoff Hurst, Michael Owen, Dion Dublin and Carltom Palmer - were at Sarm Studios in West London this morning where they also worked on the video to accompany the track.

It was also the location for the recording of the Band Aid single in 1984 and the new promo will be unveiled for the first time during the TV broadcast for Sport Relief night on Friday, March 21.

The all-star cast will be hoping the new track can find the same success as Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightning Seeds' 'Three Lions' song which is still regarded as a World Cup classic despite only helping England to yet another quarter-final defeat.
