The stunt began with a long-haired man called Steven taking a seat next to the musician onstage.

He told the story of his relationship with a woman named Keegan, and she had cheated on him when he moved to Los Angeles and she remained in Portland, Oregon.

Prince was given the task of breaking the news to Keegan, and he did so over the phone.

'Listen, Steven’s a good guy, but I have a message for you, from him,' said Prince.

'Should I be nervous? she asked.

'No, no, it’s a good message. In this relationship, things are much harder than in the single world. Keegan, in this life you’re on your own. Keegan, this is what it sounds like when Steven breaks up with you.'

But Keegan didn't seem too phased, and asked Prince if he was available, to which he answered, 'no.'

Arsenio then chimed in, and said, 'I’ll tell you, if you’ve gotta have your man break up with you, this is a great way to have it happen.'

Prince also chatted with Arsenio during a sit-down interview.

He was asked by the talk show host what he would be doing 'if he weren't Prince.'

'When I was 16, I was completely broke and needed to go get a job and I got the Yellow Pages out and I couldn't find one thing that I wanted to do,' he said. 'So I decided I was going to push as hard as I could to be a musician and went at it.'

He then said later, 'I think I'd want to teach in some capacity. There's a lot of fine musicians in the group right now, and I'm learning from them. So as much as I'd like to teach, I like to learn.'

Prince performed three songs - a new on called FunkNRoll along with She's Always In My Hair and Mutiny.

His appearance gave the show a huge ratings boost, with a 56 percent spike of the show's February average, according to Variety.

It was announced last week that Arsenio's show will be renewed for a second season.

He is starting to look like Howard Stern. At first, I thought it was Stern wearing a wig.

Prince! You are a fine performer and a musical genius. But Brother, would you please wear a shirt with sleeves from now on? We none of us is getting younger. You're covering up what should be made clear. We can't see your eyes, we can barely see the shape of your head. Your torso is wreathed in long furs. Yet your spindly arms jut out all bare, all of a sudden. I know a great Habadasher in New York, will make you look like the Prince you really are. Call Me!

OMG, I just love Prince....when he said those lines I was immediately taken back to the 80s and Purple Rain. He is an amazing musician and songwriter.

Prince must have been living a clean life - physically and spiritually. He looks different from his contemporaries in show business.
