KATHMANDU, JAN 31 - CPN-UML standing committee member Bharat Mohan Adhikari Sunday urged the concerned political parties not to be driven by the ‘dirty game’ of toppling the government saying that it would hider the constitution writing and peace process.
Speaking at an interaction programme organized by Media Vision Nepal in the capital today, the UML leader said, since the major parties have different concepts on state restructuring and forms of governance system that it should be sorted out by forming a high-level commission.
Adhikari also stressed on the management of Maoist combatants before the constitution drafting.
The new statute should be drafted by forging inter-party consensus and the Maoist combatants should be managed before drafting the new constitution, Adhikari said.
Also present in the programme, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC said that it is wrong to topple the incumbent government for fulfilling the timely promulgation of the new constitution and for leading the peace process to the logical end, which he said, was the most important responsibility.
NC leader KC, however, said if the UCPN (Maoist) made institutional decision to support NC for making the new government and UML supported it, NC would lead the new government.
