We play Titanfall, TowerFall and Dark Souls 2 in this week's Polygon Live

It's fair to say that March 11, 2014 will go down in history. How often do we get three hugely anticipated games on single day? And yet, here we are. There's obviously been a boatload of enthusiasm about Titanfall on the web at large, and TowerFall has been dominating our office for months. And wow, Dark Souls 2...well it's a new Dark Souls, which is generally considered a good thing. Chris Plante is out in the wilds of Canada, so we're joined today by Jeff Bakalar, Senior Games Editor and Host over at CNET. Please make him welcome! As always, we'll start streaming as close to 12pm ET as humanly possible. If we're a little late, be patient. There are cogs and things. Feel free to send questions via Twitter with the hashtag #polygonlive and we'll try to answer them on the show.

Watch us play South Park: The Stick of Truth, Tower of Guns and Goofball Goals Soccer Simulator on Polygon Live

Last week we drowned ourselves in action; this week Polygon Live is all about the goofs. First, we have the long delayed South Park: The Stick of Truth, a game our own Justin McElroy enjoyed, despite its technical flaws. Then there's Tower of Guns, game about a tower full of guns. And to close the episode, we'll play some Goofball Goals Soccer Simulator, which I need to assume was made just for Breaking Madden-creator Jon Bois. Polygon's senior reporter Colin Campbell will join Russ Frushtick and me for the entirety of the episode. Have questions about the show or the games? Send them to Polygon's Twitter with the hashtag #polygonlive and we'll try to answer them during the show. We'll also be participating in the LiveStream chat.

Watch us play Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Thief and DKC: Tropical Freeze on Polygon Live

In the words of Rust Cohle: time is a flat circle.Scanning today's list of games, I feel like we've been here before and we'll be here again. We have Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a Frankenstein's monster of EA's most popular franchises; then there's Thief, a reboot of the once king of stealth games; and lastly Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, a sequel to a reboot, which itself was rereleased last year. Video games are iterative, so why do I feel like I'm going crazy. Is it me? Is it the games? Is it this copy of The King in Yellow sitting on my desk, haphazardly opened to the first page of the second act? It's probably me. Polygon's own senior reviewer Danielle Riendeau will join Russ Frushtick and me for the entirety of the episode. Have questions about the show or the...

Watch us play Strider, Titanfall and Earth Defense Force 2025 on Polygon Live

We've stuffed today's Polygon Live with action, action and action. The beat sheet reads like my teenage dream game: Swordfights? Check! Mechs? Check! Robots the size of the Empire State Building? Check! Sure, Strider and Titanfall are exciting games to have on the show, but I'm most jazzed to introduce Earth Defense Force 2025 to readers who've never heard of the series. I've been swayed into EDF fandom over the years, and the latest entry captures everything wonderful and terrible about the games. Polygon's own Managing Editor Justin McElroy will join Russ Frushtick and me for the entirety of the episode. Have questions about the show or the games? Send them to Polygon's Twitter with the hashtag #polygonlive and we'll try to answer them during the show. We'll also be participating in...

Watch us play Outlast, The Floor Is Jelly and Loadout on Polygon Live

When we conceived of a weekly live show, we feared the slow weeks of January would strand us without a new game to play.In hindsight, that concern seems silly. I didn't respect how many games are released on a weekly basis — and not just generic violent shooters. This week, we have a variety of games. First, we play Outlast, in which we, an intrepid journalist, investigate a spooky asylum with little more than a digital camcorder and our wits. Frushtick screams; it's a good time for all. Then, we play The Floor Is Jelly, a charming game in which each stage is like a puzzle made of jiggly, wiggly JELLO. The game was made by Ian Snyder. If you've never read his blog, you should give it a look. The current top story, an alternative to Game of the Year lists, is an insightful look back...

Watch us play Octodad, Hearthstone and more on Polygon Live!

Last week, we promised a deep roster of PC games to celebrate our office's new rig. This week, we deliver on that promise.First up, we have Octodad: Dadliest Catch, an octopus father simulator. We'll be joined by the game's Creative Director, Kevin Zuhn. Then, Phil Kollar, deputy reviews editor for Polygon, will guide us through Hearthstone, an online competitive card game from Blizzard, the creators of The Lost Vikings. Phill will hang around for a look at Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition on PS4. We'll be sure to talk about how the updated console port compares to its PC predecessor. To wrap things up, we'll crash cars in Next Car Game, the latest vehicle destruction toy box from Bugbear Entertainment. Have questions about the games? Send them to Polygon's Twitter with the...

Polygon Live: Episode 2, ft. A Wizard's Lizard

We snowshoed through the frozen wasteland the wanderers fondly remember as "Midtown" so you might enjoy a piping bowl of video game footage and conversation. Today, we offer you, the loyal viewer, three salty servings of gaming goodness. First up is A Wizard's Lizard, an adorably drawn action role-playing game from Lost Decade Games. Then we have Gridiron Solitaire, a football solitaire game that I don't fully understand and yet to which I'm helplessly addicted. And lastly, a surprise game! Questions about the games? Send them to Polygon's Twitter with the hashtag #polygonlive and we'll try to answer them during the show! And this week, we'll also be participating in the LiveStream chat!
