She's going gangster! Alicia Keys appears to be dressed as Al Capone as she surfaces in NYC wearing trouser suit
|
It may be 2014 but Alicia Keys was sporting a much more retro look as she left her hotel in New York on Thursday.
The R&B singer seemed to be going for 1930s gangster chic in a grey fedora hat and heavy black overcoat under which the infamous Al Capone would have felt comfortable hiding his Tommy gun.
Under the coat, the 33-year-old wore a distressed grey and black suit jacket and crisply ironed black trousers with a sharp crease down the front of the leg.

She completed the look with a pair of very masculine black lace-up shoes with a white frill detail.
The New York native hid her short hair under her hat, which was pulled low over her perfectly made up face.
Alicia smiled broadly as she made her way to a waiting car.
Streetwise: The 33-year-old singer wore a black suit, heavy overcoat and grey fedora that would have looked totally appropriate in 1930s New York
The star, who has a three-year-old son, Egypt, with her hip-hop star husband Swizz Beatz, has a lot to be happy about.
In January, the If I Ain't Got You singer
won her 15th Grammy Award, for Best R&B Album, beating John
Legend, Faith Evans, Chrisette Michele and TGT.
And on Tuesday Alicia announced she and Kendrick Lamar have
teamed up for It's On Again, the lead track for the upcoming Spider-Man 2
soundtrack.
So where's she hiding her Tommy gun? The star smiled as she got into a waiting car
She co-wrote the song with Oscar nominee Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar and Oscar-winning film composer Hans Zimmer.
She shared the news in a tweet with street art of Spider-Man, saying: 'It's On Again with
me, @kendricklamar @Pharrell and @RealHansZimmer!'
In a statement about the album, she said: 'I'm very excited to be a part of such a powerful collaboration.
Getting stuck in: Alicia shared the news that It's On Again, her collaboration with Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar and Hans Zimmer, will close The Amazing Spider-Man 2, posting it on Twitter with street art of Spidey
'We really feel It's On Again captures the
experience, the story — and most importantly — the meaning behind the
film, which is that we all have the potential to be extraordinary.
There's a little bit of a super hero in all of us.'
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Original Motion Picture
Soundtrack is due out on April 22, and the movie will be released in the US on May 2 and the UK on April 18.

Maybe she's just trying to fit the image everyone keeps suggesting. Better to laugh it off than to take it seriously. She is a beautiful woman no matter what she wears.
