She was always hyper-critical, and he spent money like it was water over Niagra Falls, which scared her. She mentioned several times that money was tight and that they had little or no savings, plus they sent their kids to an expensive Christian school. There was ALWAYS some tension between them; it was there even as long ago as 2008 or 2009. I really hoped they would stick it out, though. I quit watching in 2010.

I would have left too Amy and the kids were complete slobs around the house, Matt used to complain about it all the time about how he had this beautiful house built and none of them could give a crap about cleaning up after themselves. The place was like a pig sty.

It's very difficult to be a couple long term with such different desires and physical abilities. She can't turn off her spirit of adventure and desire to do things because he is more of stay at home guy with physical restraints. A separation sounds good to give them time to separate and explore their own wants. It may make them both want to find more common ground.

The way those two fought this isn't surprising news. I would be surprised by a divorce though. I think they love each other but they also bounce off each other's personality. The distance and some marriage counseling will do them some good.
