Ricky Martin was once the handsomest man in all of Latin America.

But on Friday the Adrenalina singer proved he has traded in his clean-cut looks for a much scruffier image.

While relaxing in his boxers at his hotel in Brazil, the 42-year-old showed off a not-so-fit stomach as well as an array of tattoos.

Still, the Livin' La Vida Loca singer did have muscular arms and fit legs.

At one point, he rested his head on his hands, before heading back inside his room. Ricky is in Brazil shooting his music video for the song Vida, which is part of the World Cup’s official soundtrack.

He was in his element last Tuesday when he was spotted filming amidst crowds and fanfare in Rio.

Ricky was first seen in black shorts and a grey singlet dancing in the sands of Mirante do Leblon with a group of extras.

But after his top was drenched in sweat he later swapped it for a longer white sleeveless shirt.

He wore his new, cleaner ensemble on a walk through the picturesque waters of a Brazilian beach - a much more tranquil scene as he abandoned the crew of locals he was dancing with earlier.

Ricky was born in Puerto Rico, which is not far off from Brazil.

The Maria singer had his biggest hit single back in 1999 with Livin' La Vida Loca, but he's far from a one-hit-wonder having sold over 60 million albums worldwide.

Martin, who got his start in the Latin boyband Menudo, will reprise his role as a mentor on The Voice Australia in 2014 after he debuted on the show last year.
