She put in long hours for nine seasons on the hit CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother, but now filming has ended, Alyson Hannigan is taking some much needed time for herself.

The actress, who turns 40 later this month, went shopping in Los Angeles on Saturday, after getting her hair done.

The red-haired actress looked relaxed and unhurried as she browsed for clothing, picking up mostly jeans, T-shirts and sweaters.

She wore a monochromatic outfit in navy blue consisting of skinny jeans, a long-sleeve button-down buttoned shirt, and ballet flats with a red stripe.

She even carried a navy blue shoulder bag. Her only other accessories were a brown leather belt and a purple water bottle, and sunglasses when she headed outside.

The fresh-faced beauty wore no make-up, showing off her porcelain complexion to the maximum.

She was enjoying getting in some much needed 'me' time, and stepped out on Saturday without
actor husband Alexis Denisof or their two daughters: Satyana, nearly five, and Keeva, 22 months.

Alyson previously said that she will miss working on How I Met Your Mother, which has been a huge part of her life.

In January during an appearance on The Talk, she cried while discussing the inevitable end of the series and admitted that she loved playing the onscreen wife of Jason Segel.

'He's just such a wonderful guy. I'm getting all...' Alyson said through the tears.

Alyson sounded more chipper on February 28 when she tweeted: 'I am officially wrapped from How I Met Your Mother!!! It has been a true pleasure to be a part of this family. Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!'

But her time as a lady of leisure might be short-lived.

The former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star filmed the CBS pilot More Time With Family back in October and there's a good chance it will be picked up the network.

The program is slated for being A clone of Friends.... But I'm A fan of both shows and they are both funny.... it's no different to A number of British and American comedies, but no one mentions them..... HIMYM was funny and well written and concerning some adult themes it was not rude or smutty..... The timing and delivery by the cast has had me in stitches loads of times.
