And ensuring her best pal was well nourished, the socialite came complete with a few treats, with the 29-year-old Radio 1 DJ posting a shot of Pixie on his Instagram page carrying a bag of Jelly Babies and a can of Diet Coke.

Showcasing her model credentials, Pixie - the daughter of Boomtown Rats legend Sir Bob Geldof - looked every inch the gym bunny as she commenced her workout, putting her impressive figure on display in a low-cut black Nike vest top.

The catwalk queen wore her short brunette locks piled high on her head and completed her exercise ensemble with a pair of black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and sensible trainers.

Treating Grimmy to a warm hug before heading off for a well-earned relax in a nearby cafe with fellow model pal, Daisy Lowe, Pixie indulged in a caffeine fix with a cup of coffee.

Covering up in a black sweater and a chic leather jacket while toting an envy-inducing Moschino handbag, Pixie wasted no time in getting involved in a crafty cigarette.

Puffing away contentedly, the satisfaction on the star's face was clear to see as she smoked away while chatting to Daisy.

Grimmy has already encountered a spot of bother in the bottom department and had to slip into extra padding after getting saddle sore just one-third of the way through his endurance test.

After a brief re-fuelling break - for which friend Fearne Cotton replaced him in the saddle, Grimshaw returned wearing two pairs of tight cycling shorts.

He said: 'My bottom is more comfortable - but the front, less. I don't think I've been on a bike since I was 13 - and my dad said you should be back on it because it was the only time in your life that you were thin. I feel like I've got a hangover.'

Grimmy's challenge kicked off at 7am at the start of his Radio 1 Breakfast Show, and will finish during Greg James' Drive Time Show at 7pm on Monday evening.

The DJ was later joined by model Daisy Lowe and TV host Davina McCall, as well as numerous other musicians, athletes and reality stars, throughout the course of the day.

Headed up by Grimmy and Radio 2’s Jo Whiley, the BBC Radio team will push themselves to the limit as they attempt to run, swim and cycle 25,000 miles - the circumference of the world - in aid of the charitable event.

Grimmy's cycling mission has officially kicked off the challenge, while Jo, 48, will commence an arduous treadmill feat at 8pm on Wednesday, which will see her attempt to run for a mind-boggling 26 hours.

The BBC radio stalwart will present her Radio 2 show as she pounds the treadmill, before hoping to complete the mission at 10pm on Thursday - the end of her next show - after having run all the way through the night.

She said: 'I’m incredibly nervous yet excited about my challenge. I’ve always wanted to do something for Sport Relief but I certainly didn’t see this coming!

'It’s going to be ridiculously tough, but the one thing I have to remember is that every penny raised will be spent helping people living incredibly tough lives – that’s what will keep me going.'

As part of the gruelling Radio 1 Around The World challenge, Grimmy visited the Kenyan city of Nairobi, where he saw first-hand how the funds raised by Sport Relief are helped.

Overcome with emotion at what he saw, the presenter admitted he broke down in tears after seeing children and teenagers scavenging for food on the streets of Nairobi.

He told the Daily Mirror: 'The thing that made me really upset was the stories, when it got personal and you met the people. We met this girl called Grace who is an amazing kid, she is 13 and was abandoned by her parents.

'She was wandering around the streets on her own and staying anywhere she could. Grace was eating food that you would throw away if it was in your fridge, slightly rotten fruit, and when I started speaking to her that is when I started to get upset.

'She broke my heart because she was so beautiful and so full of love. I didn’t cry when I was on front of Grace, I could feel myself choking up. I held it in until that night when I went back to the hotel, that was when it hit me, I am in a hotel and she is still out there.'

"Showcasing her model credentials", "smoking hot", "impressive figure", "catwalk queen", "exercise ensemble", "the ultimate gym bunny".............The DM has gone into a fawning frenzy over what is basically a plain/odd looking girl who clearly is no regular gym rat, with the added bonus of being a disgusting smoker - just because her father is Bob Geldof. Get a shower love.

She's a model? I think you guys in the UK have a completely different take on models than the rest of the world. The DM always has stories about 'models' who wouldn't make it into a mail order catalogue here in the US.

Believe me, we're as baffled about her being classed as a model as you are.
