Vanessa Carlton doesn’t have children of her own – having recently suffered an ectopic pregnancy.

For now, the 33-year-old musician will have to settle for her fur baby, a dog named Lord Victor – whom she took for a walk in New York on Sunday.

The A Thousand Miles singer went make-up free as she strolled in a brown cowboy hat, lugging a big striped bag and a large cup of coffee.

The beautiful brunette bundled herself from the cold in a thick blue parka, teamed with knee-length black leggings, and pale brown loafers.

In December, Vanessa wed John McCauley, singer for Deer Tick, during a romantic outdoor wedding held at sunset on a hilltop.

And if marrying the great love of her life wasn't enough, she got music icon, friend and mentor Stevie Nicks to officiate the ceremony.

The couple first met after the frontman contacted the pop singer on Twitter.

'We met through Patrick Hallahan, from My Morning Jacket. He introduced us after I went on Vanessa's Twitter and said, "Hey, VC let's get a beer,''' John told Billboard.

'I had just figured out how to use Twitter so I was really proud of myself.'

Vanessa has Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which lessens her chance of having a child.

The White Houses singer was rushed to the hospital in October for emergency surgery on a ruptured fallopian tube caused by her ectopic pregnancy.

Her doctors were forced to removed her entire right fallopian tube.

Fortunately, despite the unforeseen complication and removal of her tube, the singer happily revealed at the time that her other tube and ovaries are 'perfectly healthy,' meaning she's still able to have children.
