Jamie Foxx isn't going to win any fans amongst the PC brigade with his latest performance.

Beloved though he is to many thanks to his work on films like 2004's Ray and Django Unchained in 2012, there are some who might his decision to run a 'twerk off' amongst his female fans at a Jazz Festival in Miami just a little bit sexist.

Especially when they hear the critique offered to the contestants with their eyes on the none too paltry prize.

Close but no cigar: Jamie Foxx had some tough words for Mischa as she competed in his 'twerk off' in Miami on Saturday

To be fair to the 46-year-old Academy Award winner, his observations are clearly tongue-in-cheek and the audience members seem to be having a great time; as is the crowd in general.

Even Mischa, who is dressed in boxing attire for her turn, laughs as Foxx tells her that her outfit doesn't 'complement' her frame.'

Another contestant is told that she obviously went to private school, given the tame nature of her movements and Jamie then entreats the fans not to be 'too cute.'

'What I want is something ugly,' he yells.

Contestant after contestant then took the stage to whoops of applause, not least one very nimble grandmother who gets to see the chivalrous side of The Spider-Man star.

According to Variety, Foxx and 34-year-old Kevin Hart are currently in talks to star in Screen Gem’s developing film, Black Phantom.

The film will tell the story of a double-crossed hitman 'who enlists the help of the Black Phantom, the same African-American hitman who had been sent to kill him.'

Jamie will also hit our screens later this year in the reboot of classic Shirley Temple hit, Annie, alongside Cameron Diaz and Quvenzhane Wallis.

Will Gluck directed the feature, which is produced by Jay Z and Will Smith

I feel bad for the women who were in the audience. This was a jazz festival concert, not a stripper contest. Sad that some of these people have to bring everything down into the gutter.

The first time I saw twerking was in the '80s video by Nelly; all the strippers in the video were doing it. Jamie never harms. He's all about fun and seriousness when it comes to women.

Sexist? Women that willingly perform a dance routine that was originated by African women, is sexist? Who actually is writing these articles? Soon it will be sexist for men to urinate while standing up. This article makes no sense. More importantly, what he was conveying to the audience is simple: the dance isn't about being polite/uptight and politically correct. If you are going to twerk, you have to leave your good girl demeanor at home. It's a very sexual dance. You don't think about what you're doing (if you decide to twerk), you simply let your body act on its own.
