He's known for portraying the pessimistic Alan Harper in the hit show Two And A Half Men.

But on Saturday, Jon Cryer embraced his more cheerful and fun side as he joined his family for a morning outing to the Farmer's Market in Studio City.

The actor was spotted browsing the healthy outdoor stalls and even taking a spin on a train with his wife and young daughter.

The 48-year-old appeared in good spirits as he browsed the fresh produce on offer, loading the stroller up with plenty of supplies.

The star dressed casually for the excursion, keeping cool on the scorching Californian winter day
in a striped shirt that was unbuttoned halfway to reveal a green printed T-shirt underneath.

He completed his outfit with a pair of jeans and practical sunglasses to protect his eyes from the glare of the sun.

However, he should have followed his wife's example and donned a hat, with his thinning locks providing no protection for his head.

Down-to-earth: The actor and his entertainment reporter wife blended in with all the other market-goers in their casual attire as they perused the stalls looking at all the fresh produce

Wife Lisa Joyner warded off the sun in a stylish straw fedora and a pair of large brown sunglasses.

The Find My Family host showed off her petite frame in a comfortable navy blue V-neck tee and a pair of loose-fitting jeans.

The 47-year-old entertainment reporter kept her cropped brunette locks styled simply in a straight 'do that peeked out from beneath her hat.

Keeping in touch: While his wife took care of the grocery shopping, the 48-year-old checked his phone and pushed the couple's four-and-a-half-year-old in her stroller

The family seemed to relish their leisurely Sunday spent together, and once all the shopping was done, the doting parents treated their precious little girl to something a bit more up her alley.

All three climbed aboard a red and green train for a whip around the market.

Four-and-a-half-year-old Daisy appeared perfectly content - if a little underwhelmed - as she sat next to her father, his arm wrapped around her shoulders.

Choo choo! The family were the picture of contentment as they enjoyed a ride on the train

I like Jon Cryer, a fine reliable actor and comedian. He also appeared in one of the Superman movies. He has a fine family
