She sadly passed away in December 2009 aged just 32.

But Brittany Murphy's final film, Something Wicked, is only just about to be released following delays as several scenes had to be re-shot after the blonde actress' death.

The movie will make its debut on April 4 in Eugene, Oregon, despite wrapping just months before the star died of pneumonia.

Something Wicked tells the story of a young couple who run into trouble when secrets from their past catch up with them, and the film's writer and producer Joe Colleran admits Brittany's final performance is 'very chilling' and describes the motion picture as being 'very emotional'.

He told the New York Daily News: 'The first months of reviewing the footage and starting to put things together and then seeing her and hearing her voice, it's very emotional.

'It is an additional responsibility, you do want her performance to be the best it can be, because unfortunately it's her last performance.'

As a result of having to re-shoot part of the movie, producers had to get permission to be allowed back to film at specific outdoor locations in Oregon.

What's more, some scenes had to be shot in specific weather conditions.

Despite the long wait, Joe insists fans of the late actress will be delighted with her performance in the movie.

He added: 'She just hit it out of the park. You can see why she was a celebrity and a star.'

Brittany starred in several films throughout her movie career including 2002 drama 8 Mile, in which she played the love interest of Eminem's character Jimmy 'B-Rabbit' Smith.

The actress also appeared alongside Ashton Kutcher in 2003 romantic-comedy Just Married and in the star-studded crime thriller Sin City.

She should have won an Oscar for her moving and BRILLIANT performance in "Girl Interrupted". She never again got the opportunity to display that searing Movie Talent again, as the Roles she could have played with aplomb were not offered to her. Such a shame. So much Beauty, and so much Talent.Gone TOO soon. RIP.

Her voice in Happy Feet was a revelation and made me love that film even more (if that's even possible) She had such big expressive eyes. I also applaud her performance in the underrated cult classic 1998 film Drive, she was brilliant. I will see this final film in tribute to a great talent I am sure her performance will be memorable.
