When you have just welcomed your first child into the world exhausted new parents often need a little down time to themselves.

Simon Cowell and girlfriend Lauren Silverman took a break from parenting duties as they were seen leaving Mayfair restaurant Scott's in London on Tuesday.

Simon, 54 and Lauren, 36, were both beaming as they left the west London establishment, perhaps because they are relishing their new found roles as parents.

Simon and Lauren, who arrived back in the UK two week ago, have been inseparable after welcoming baby Eric into the world in February.

Simon had upgraded his usual uniform of jeans and a tight white T-shirt, to a silver suit and crisp white shirt, although unbuttoned so the X Factor mogul was still exposing his chest.

Lauren looked ladylike and elegant in a black skirt suit, which she teamed with black cut-out stilettos and a hint of lacy lingerie.

It is the second time in a week new parents Simon and Lauren have been spotted out on a dinner date.

Last Friday the lovebirds were seen sharing a kiss in the back of their taxi on the way home from private members club LouLous.

Simon has been hitting the headlines again this week after welcoming Cheryl Cole back to The X Factor, following a three-year hiatus.

Speaking on Daybreak, he said: 'You know what, I've been doing this for a long time. You have fallouts. I held my hands up and said I made a mistake and I was sorry.'

Adding: 'And then when I decided I wanted to come back, I also decided I had to have Cheryl back on the show with me.'

Simon's looking good in his snazzy looking suit but, the Cuban Heeled Beatle boots don't quite compliment the rest of his attire. Good, but not quite Carling....!

Are you members of there family as you know a lot about them. Don't you think its bad manners calling people . I wonder how you would manage if you were doing Simon's job. As soon as there nose is outside you start calling them, give them a break.

Why should'nt they be out smiling and enjoying each others company. At least they don't have that awful Sinetta toadying around them.

What about her son from her previous relationship doesn't that little soul count for anything? To be honest I'm fed up with seeing their smug faces all the time. And with all his money has he just got the one pair of shoes or does he have a batch of them made.

The newsworthiness of this story should be that Simon is out of his one pair of jeans and tight top!

They are having time together in the evenings when baby is fast asleep tucked up in bed. Good for them. baby is safe & they are keeping romance alive instead of neglecting each other once baby is born. Too many women forget they have a husband/partner & that can cause a lot of trouble. I don't approve of what they did, of course not, but in this case they are doing the right thing.

I can't get through the comments because as usual where this pair are concerned they are so mean-spirited, niggardly and sanctimonious. All I will say that Lauren does look rather triumphant in photo 2!

all that money and he cannot afford to have his trousers turned up so they don't clean the carpet as he walks!
