Emma Stone the secret Spice Girls fan in TEARS after video message from Mel B... before busting out her own rendition of Wannabe

By Daniel Van Boom

She’s a bona fide A-lister, with roles in several big-budget blockbusters under her belt.

But Emma Stone proved she’s as down to earth as anyone in Hollywood, legitimately tearing up after receiving a video message from Spice Girl Melanie 'Mel B' Brown on Thursday.

It all happened during an interview with 2DayFM’s Merrick Watts and Sophie Monk, which ended with Stone, 25, singing the Spice Girls’ hit Wannabe at the request of Scary Spice herself.

‘Mel B could’ve been here?! I’m gonna cry!,’ Emma exclaimed after Sophie, 34, and Merrick, 40, informed her that their frequent 2DayFM Breakfast co-host often accompanies them on interviews.

But they had a surprise for Stone, as Mel B, 38, had recorded a video message just for the Easy A actress.

‘Oh my god, is Mel B talking to me? I’m legitimately crying, I’m the biggest Spice Girl fan ever,’ she said, literally too ecstatic to focus.

Back in 2012, she told Entertainment Weekly that when she was a kid she ‘wanted to dress like the Spice Girls…I had bell bottoms. A lot of peace signs…I wanted to be Baby Spice.’

Mel B, evidently, had read the interview – demanding that Stone sing a rendition of a Spice Girls song to make up for the fact that she hadn’t chosen Scary as her favourite Spice.

Stone was still in a state of utter disbelief, and while Merrick excitedly proclaim ‘you’re tearing up!,' Sophie lent a helping hand and began singing Wannabe to get the ball rolling.

Emma then hit them with her rendition of the song, beginning ‘here’s a story from A-Z, you wanna’ get with me you gotta’ listen carefully,’ before stumbling over a few of the words.

But she was able to recover and finish the verse with confidence before stopping to excitedly exclaim ‘I’m crying...I love Mel B.’

Stone is currently Down Under with boyfriend Andrew Garfield, as the two are promoting The Amazing Spider-man 2, which also stars Jamie Foxx.

She reprises her role as the film's leading lady, playing Peter Parker's love interest, Gwen Stacy.

The first film was the biggest of her career, with a budget of over $200million and worldwide earnings of just over $750million.

I was a huge Spice Girl fan when I was younger. I had the hit clips, dolls, movies, CD ect. When I was six-ish I won this Christmas shopping spree trip basically I just got a 100$ to spend on whatever I wanted. It was great. I went to Wal-Mart? Or something similar and after I bought gifts for my bother and sister I went crazy buying Spice Girl stuff. Good memories. =]

Ugh, so overrated. She was so miscast in Crazy, Stupid, Love. Entirely out of her league.

So sweet. She is such a darling. And, honestly, maybe the Spice Girls were not the epitome of musical genius, but they were fun and positive and their lyrics were clean. We could do with a wee but more of that (talking to you Miley Cyrus).
