He's back in town to support his wife Blake Lively as she films The Age Of Adaline.

But while she's busy on set Ryan Reynolds is enjoying the bonus of a vacation in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada.

The actor, 37, took his mother, Tammy, to dinner on Friday while his 26-year-old wife was in the midst of filming for her upcoming movie.

Ryan escorted his mother from a large SUV to the Blue Water Cafe and Raw Bar in Yaletown in downtown Vancouver.

The Green Lantern star looked preppy in a denim jacket over a red and blue plaid button up shirt and jeans, while his mother was fashionable in a tan pea coat with a leopard print scarf and brown corduroy pants.

He played the part of the gentleman, walking his mother to the car door and closing it for her at the conclusion of dinner.

Meanwhile, his wife looked a bit lost and downcast while filming her scene, wandering the dark street outside Pappas Furs, eventually catching a cab.

The Gossip Girl star was dressed handsomely in a royal blue coat over a knee-length black dress, teamed with black Mary Jane pumps.

She carried a little black handbag and wore her hair in luxurious curls with a side part, secured behind her ear with a clip.

In Age Of Adaline, Blake plays a woman born at the turn of the 20th Century who becomes unaffected by age following a near-fatal accident.

This apparently means that Blake will be seen in a series of fashions throughout the ages including the 1950s.

After years of living alone, her character meets a man who will tempt her to relinquish her immortality.

The 2015 film also stars Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn.

Blake has not appeared in a film since she starred in Oliver Stone’s movie Savages back in 2012, having taken a two-year hiatus from Hollywood.

She recently told Elle: 'Having a personal life has been really nice. I’d been on Gossip Girl 10 months a year for six years, shooting 15-hour days, so I hadn’t had time to just be since I graduated from high school.

'It’s been nice to kind of settle into my own skin and work on things I really love.'
