Mel Gibson 'considering legal fight to gain more custody of daughter Lucia from ex Oksana Grigorieva'

Mel Gibson is reported to be considering another legal battle with his ex Oksana Grigorieva.

The 58-year-old is alleged to be seeking more custody of his four-year-old daughter Lucia that he shares with the Russian pianist, who he pays $20,000 a month in child support to.

A new report by RadarOnline claims that the Hollywood actor is considering going to court once again over their daughter.

An insider told the website: 'Oksana is terrified that Mel is going to go to court and ask Judge Scott Gordon to give him sole custody of their daughter, Lucia, because of a recent incident.

'Oksana thinks Mel will try and use this to show the judge that she is an unfit mother.'

A report by TMZ claims that Grigorieva recently filed legal documents claiming she can only afford to pay $372 per month towards debts listed at $438,000.

The hard-up Russian pianist is in dire financial straits, with her position made much worse a fortnight ago when a judge ruled the Lethal Weapon star did not have to pay the $375,000 remaining on their settlement after she breached a confidentiality clause.

According to TMZ she is asking the court to clear the balance of her debts after five years, despite the fact she will have only stumped up $22,320, just five per cent of what she owes.

This amounts to just over one installment of the $20,000 she receives in child support from the Braveheart star to care for their four-year-old daughter Lucia.

Oksana filed for bankruptcy less than four years after knocking back a reported $15m child custody settlement offer from the megarich actor, who is worth an estimated $425m.

Previous legal documents filed showed she is claiming she is so broke she has just $10 in cash to her name, and has $48,000 in assets and $438,000 in debts.

Her biggest problem is her legal bills, for she owes five lawyers a mammoth $250,000.

During her bitter custody battle with the Mad Max actor she sacked more than 40 lawyers.

At the end of it all the Oscar-winning star was ordered to pay just $750,000 to Grigorieva, which he is stumping up in installments.

However a judge ruled two weeks ago Mel does not have to pay the outstanding $375,000 balance after she breached a confidentiality agreement in their settlement by speaking about her ex on Howard Stern's radio show back in October.

Oksana is still receiving $20,000 a month in child support for Lucia, while her former flame Timothy Dalton pays her $2,500 a month for their son Alexander.

The lawyers didn't do her any good and if I were her, I'd seriously question the bills they've submitted. They didn't work all those hours on her case. If they had, she'd have done better. And the visitation would be sorted. Good lawyers always make sure the visitation is sorted properly. I'd pay them 20 cents on the dollar. It's either that, or take them to the State Bar for over billing.

She gets that much per month and is claiming she is broke?what is she spending the money on-obviously not her debts and raising a child wouldnt cost that high amount.!Also,whats with the vast difference in payments for her 2 children?Does she spend thousands more on raising Mel's child than she spends raising Mr Daltons?If she does,thats unfair on the kids,if not she is obviously using Mels money towards raising another mans child..... Anyhow, if Mel pays 20k a month for his daughter why shouldnt he be able to see her.

Mel has been one of my favourites since I saw him in "The Road Warrior", and I hope he & Oks can work it out for their daughter's sake. He was pretty infatuated with her, you'd think she would've used the opportunity to further her career -- kind of ceaucou. I bet little Lucie would love to see more of her Daddy, though!
