Halle Berry displays slim post-baby body in costume on Extant set as rumours of marriage strife refuse to die down

Halle Berry put recent rumours of trouble in her marriage to Olivier Martinez behind her to focus on her new sci-fi television series Extant in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The 47-year-old Oscar winner was fully engrossed in her work as she sprinted around the outdoor set in a grey sleeveless hoodie, black long-sleeved T-shirt and black leggings with a thin white stripe.

Halle also wore black trainers and had a pop of colour with bright pink gloves as she threw herself into the role.

The mother of two has been cast in Extant as astronaut Molly Watts who struggles to reconnect with her husband and android son after spending a year in space.

Her scientist husband will be portrayed by ER star Goran Visnjic, while West Wing alum Michael O'Neill has been cast as a former astronaut.

Camryn Manheim also recently joined the cast of the sci-fi series that has Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg as an executive producer. The show is scheduled to air on CBS in July.

While her professional life is flourishing, it has been claimed that there is tension in the relationship and the couple are alleged to be having vicious arguments.

Halle and 48-year-old French actor Martinez have only been married for eight months but a friend told Star magazine: 'They have had some extremely vicious arguments, and every small thing is causing issues.'

'Olivier thinks Halle is spending too much time working and trying to lose weight and not enough on their baby, she's tired of him telling her what to do.'

'Both of them are very hot-tempered and stubborn.'

The couple haven't been seen in public together since December 7 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, and Halle attended this year's Oscar festivities alone with her wedding ring noticeably absent from her hand.

They first met while working opposite one another on the film Dark Tide and emerged as a couple in the autumn of 2010.

Halle and Olivier have a five-month-old son Maceo together.

The actress also has a six-year-old daughter Nahla from her previous relationship with Gabriel Aubry.

Since I have never met her or her husband, I can't talk about why their marriage is supposedly in trouble or not, but they are both working actors and might just be apart because of that. I know it isn't as juicy gossipy as the stories bandied about here but it is boring but possible.

Halle this, Halle that ... it takes 2 people to make a marriage work. Oliver's circumstances are what they are. Hewanted them to move back to France to be closer to his family. Halle is and always has been the breadwinner in all her relationships and as a single, working mother. Moving to France means her earning ability becomes non existant ... that's a frightening thing for an independent woman who has not just her son with Oliver but her eldest daughter's well being and future to provide for. That does have a unique ifnluence upon their marriage I am sure that most commentators do not have or think about in terms of their own lives. I wish them both well for their marriage and family.

Men to her are little more than sperm donors, and it's no wonder that her new husband is less than enamored with her right now. I really think she had a surrogate for this second child. If you look at her pregnant with her first she LOOKS pregnant. Not with this one. If so, I wish that celebrities would come out and say so and not give women, (like me), false hope that they can become pregnant in their mid/late 40's without help.

hhmmm ... i feel for your pain and am sorry that you look to celebrities and other woman as giving you hope for your circumstances then when you are disappointed turn and attack them for their own personal circumstances. Every one is different and unique, I wish you well for you. It is one thing to birth a child, it is a biological process. It is another story however to rear a child with love, compassion and empathy for others and instil those values into your child. You might want to think about that.
