She looked demure as she prepared to film hit talent show American Idol on Wednesday – but it was a radically transformed Jennifer Lopez who showed up for work the following day.

The 44-year-old singer and actress was hard to miss in a dramatic gold and black animal print minidress and matched cropped jacket as she made an appearance outside a West Hollywood studio ahead of filming commitments on Thursday.

By virtue of its tight fitting design the ensemble clung to her famous derriere, while its high hemline revealed a pair of nicely toned legs.

The mother-of-two completed her look with a pair of glossy black heels ahead of her latest appearance in Los Angeles, where she was joined by manager Benny Medina and close friend Leah Remini.

But while she was in good company, the Jenny From The Block singer was without current beau Casper Smart.

Jennifer got together with Casper shortly after calling time on her marriage to singer Marc Anthony, 45, the father of her six-year-old twins Max and Emme, in July 2011.

But after profile romances with the likes of actor Ben Affleck and rapper P.Diddy, she insisted she is in no rush to head down the aisle again following her doomed unions with ex-husbands Marc Anthony, Cuban waiter Ojani Noa and backing dancer Cris Judd.

In an interview with the April issue of InStyle magazine, she said: 'In the past, love for me has always meant forever and sure you still nurse those fantasies, but I don't try to force it anymore.

'I hung on to my fairy tale ideals for a long time. But where I am now, what I've been through, there are no rules. There are lots of ways it can turn out instead of just one.

'There are so many different kinds of happiness, not just the one you learned about when you were five years old.'

But Jennifer admitted she doesn't like being single, and has a history of 'rushing into things'.

She added: 'Look I don't love being alone. I don't. I can't beat myself up about that. What I have to do is figure out why I don't like it. Why am I not OK being alone? And can I be OK facing that?'

On Thursday's show, the singer went back to the Bronx in 1980s style bleached denim shorts for the world premiere of her new single I Luh Ya Papi.

Rocking some oversized gold bling the Puerto Rican beauty busted out some sexy moves beside a backdrop of her home borough.

The singer grew up in the diverse New York neighbourhood and launched the retro track by sitting on the set of a classic Bronx stoop.
