Meet Grandma! Simon Cowell pays an emotional visit to mother Julie to introduce her to his five-week-old son Eric

By Daily Mail Reporter

Simon Cowell has introduced his mother to his son for the first time.

The 54-year-old music mogul hasn't seen his mum Julie, 88, in months, but he and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman paid her a visit in England earlier this week to introduce her to five-week-old Eric.

And the trip was made even more emotional by the fact that Simon decided to name the baby Eric after his late father - Julie's late husband.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'It was a lovely visit from Simon and Lauren, and Julie was thrilled.

'There were some very emotional moments when she got to hold and touch Eric and his name is obviously very poignant for Julie as her husband Eric died in 1999.'

Julie previously said of Simon and her late husband: 'He misses him terribly.'

Simon previously revealed that he and Lauren, 36, were planning to move back to London after Eric's birth due to his demanding work schedule, but the pair will have to divide their time between the UK and the US as Lauren's eight-year-old son Adam - from her previous marriage with Andrew Silverman - lives in New York.

He said last month: 'Lauren knows what my work schedule is so she is cool with that and we will travel a little bit.

'We made the decision to come back to the UK and she wants to live here for a while.'

Meanwhile, in a new interview, Simon revealed that while he loves being a father, he isn't so keen on the nappy changing side of things - and prefers to leave that to the nanny.

He told Sky News: ‘I feed Eric, I talk to him and play with him, but I don’t think dads do changing nappies. I’ll leave that up to the nanny.’

seems I recall Simon saying he would give up smoking for the baby when the baby was born. Maybe he's just carrying that pack of cigs for someone else, but I wonder¿.

Wow! Parades his son up and down Florida for weeks before poor baby gets to meet his Grandma, shows you what the future holds for his son. They are both a low life prize it takes him 5 weeks for him to show his aging mother his son and the "mother" of his child dumps her 8 year son for a higher priced meal ticket.... sad

For gods sake. They haven't been in England for long, and she hasn dumped her son,her ex will not let her see him when she is with Simon,so she has to see him when he allows it. Like all mothers she still loves him,but it is so difficult.I'm sure she ees him more than we know, anh she keps in touch you can bet.
