Blake Lively is about to make a return to acting, following a two-year hiatus from Hollywood.

The flaxen-haired former Gossip Girl star tells ELLE magazine of her time off, which was presumably spent settling into married life with Ryan Reynolds, ‘having a personal life has been really nice….Its been nice to kind of settle into my own skin and work on things I really love.’

She added that ‘I’d been on Gossip Girl 10 months a year for six years, shooting 15-hour days, so I hadn’t had time to just be since I graduated from high school.’

Free spirit: Blake Lively, who has taken a two-year hiatus from Hollywood to focus on her personal life, is now prepared to make a return to the screen

Ms Lively, 26, wears two free-spirited bohemian looks in the magazine - one, a flowing printed dress with clunky, Nineties-inspired shoes, and the other, a loose button-up paired with a floppy hat.

She will first reemerge in the public eye as the face of Gucci’s new Premiere fragrance.

The actress has also partaken in the label’s successful Chime for Change charity, which benefits women’s health and education initiatives in developing nations.

Starting in April, consumers who purchase Gucci fragrances (inlcluding Ms Lively’s Premiere) will be able to log onto Chime for Change’s site and donate $5 of the sale to the charity.

‘Sure you can buy the fragrance and then not go online, but then you’re a jerk.

‘This makes the consumer an active participant by giving them responsibility,’ Ms Lively said.

Next year, Ms Lively’s first major film release since Gossip Girl will debut.

She is currently filming The Age of Adaline, playing the film’s title character – a turn of the 20th century beauty who is ‘rendered ageless after an accident,’ according to IMDB.

The site adds of the plot: ‘After years of a solitary life, she meets a man who might be worth losing her immortality.’

Ms Lively will star in the film alongside Harrison Ford.

But what will the young actress wear come premiere-time?

The noted fashion star, who counts Christian Louboutin and Karl Lagerfeld as close friends, tells ELLE that her love for short skirts has not waned in her time off from the business.

‘The older I get, I guess I wear less sparkles. And I know that someday my knees are going to look like elephant knees. But for now, my hemlines are still pretty high,’ she said.

I loved her in the " The Town" she's not a bad actress. I think people make these comments because they are jealous of talented women. I notice talentless women get less hateful comments.. Nothing intimidating about a talentless woman.
