He's still fresh off of an Oscar honor, so it's no wonder the winner is cutting himself some slack in the fashion department.

Matthew McConaughey, 44, was spotted departing from LAX on Saturday dressed down for his upcoming flight in a true laid-back fashion, showing off his American pride with a stars and stripes T-shirt.

A faded hand on his shirt was contorted into the shape of the Hawaiian Mahola gesture, all with the backdrop of the American flag.

The 44-year-old maintained his low-key California vibe by teaming the blouse with a a pair of grey slacks, and a quirky set of orange sunglasses to protect his gaze.

The Texas-born father of three layered up for the warming spring weather in a heavy black button-up coat and kept his stride in a shiny pair of leather shoes.

McConaughey carried a light load for his upcoming flight: a single leather briefcase that slung over his right shoulder, suggesting he would be making only a brief trip.

It appeared the fit father had just jumped out of the shower, as his shiny and curly golden locks looked wet.

McConaughey looked oblivious to the stares of passersby as he strode through the airport's collective chaos.

Save for his determined expression, the recent Oscar winner appeared for the most part to be relaxed and care-free, particularly considering his haphazard style for the day.

Aside from his latest career-defining Oscar win in February, McConaughey has been making headlines once again for his hit HBO show, True Detective.

While the actor has confirmed the first season will be his last, rumors speculate that acting peer Brad Pitt will be shooed in to take his place, Hollywood Life reports.

'Brad’s name has come up many times, it’s just a matter of what his other commitments are,' a source divulged to the website.
