An officer and a gentleman! Justin Theroux returns to work on new series The Leftovers amid reports he and Jennifer Aniston 'plan to elope this spring'
Justin Theroux may favour his motorcycle leathers when it comes to his off-duty signature style, but he sure does look good in a policeman's uniform, too.
On Thursday, the actor got back to work on his new HBO series The Leftovers in New York, where
he was suited up in rather dapper attire in his new role as Chief Of Police Kevin Garvey, who attempts to maintain normalcy and peace in his small town when two per cent of the population disappears without explanation.
The star appeared happy and relaxed as he chatted with cast and crew between takes as reports swirl that he and fiancée Jennifer Aniston are planning a low-key elopement to Mexico this spring after being engaged for 19 months.
Almost worth going to jail for! Justin Theroux was suited and booted in character as Chief Of Police Kevin Garvey as he filmed scenes for his new HBO series The Leftovers in New York on Thursday
Perhaps feeling that a weight has been lifted from his shoulders following months of speculation that the couple's relationship is on the rocks as their busy schedules keep them on opposite sides of the country, the 42-year-old was in a great mood as he shot scenes outside a house on the sunny day.
The star looked the part in midnight blue pants, a crisp white shirt displaying his rank with four gold stars decorating the collar, navy blue tie, black shoes and a navy jacket featuring a matching furry collar and adorned with an American flag motif, shiny gold police badge and name tag.
He sported a five o'clock shadow and his dark mane slicked back in a neat and tidy 'do.
Boy in blue: The star looked the part in aviators, midnight blue pants, crisp white shirt, navy blue tie, black shoes and navy jacket featuring fur collar and decorated with his gold police badge, name tag, American flag motif and four-star ranking
An officer and a gentleman! The actor won plenty of fans on set, with this co-star appearing rather enamoured with the hunky leading man
The actor slipped on dark aviators for several scenes, while he was seen clutching a pamphlet that appeared to be some sort of manual - perhaps being distributed to townsfolk reassuring them that the strange disappearances of more than 100 people in their neighbourhood alone was nothing to worry about.
Created by Lost's Damon Lindelof and based on the best-selling novel by Tom Perrotta, the show was picked up for a full 10-episode season on September 13 and is set to debut this summer.
With his filming schedule keeping him busy on the East Coast while his 45-year-old betrothed remains on the West Coast, where she's currently filming Horrible Bosses 2, a casual elopement seems to be the perfect compromise.
Perfectly affable: The 42-year-old appeared happy and relaxed as he chatted with cast and crew between takes, clutching some sort of pamphlet likely reassuring the townsfolk there was nothing to worry about after more than 100 people disappeared without a trace
Tool of the trade: The petite actress stood on a wooden crate to shoot the scene alongside her much-taller co-star - a simple yet effective trick often used during filming to deal with obvious awkward height differences
'Jen and Justin might be eloping!' Us Weekly reported on Wednesday, adding: 'She would love for the big day to be this spring.'
Having already had the big $1 million fairytale wedding when she wed Brad Pitt in 2000, friends say that this time around she's hoping for something 'not too stuffy, something casual' with just her closest friends.
And a destination wedding is reportedly on the cards.
'Jen would fly people out, someplace warm. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is a possibility,' the pal tells. 'She loves it there.'
Reunited! While their work commitments largely keep them on opposite sides of the country, Justin enjoyed a visit from fiancée Jennifer Aniston on March 11 as rumours swirl that the couple are planning to elope to Mexico this spring with just their closest friends

Can't imagine Jennifer marrying *anybody." She's in love with the idea of someone being in love with her --- that's called narcissism. And you get the feeling, from her side of things, the emotion is pretty thin. Sad to see him being intercalate into the mess of her life.
