From Homeland to home turf: Damian Lewis and wife Helen McCrory take a sunny stroll with the children

By Felicity Thistlethwaite

It’s not often you get to see Hollywood star Damian Lewis enjoying a day off.

But it looked like the star was thoroughly enjoying spending the weekend with his young family on Saturday as he and wife Helen McCrory strolled around London with their children.

The family, including Manon and Gulliver, were in the Primrose Hill area of London looking like any other family in that area.

While doting father Damian carried his young son’s coat, Helen carried an umbrella and kept a close eye on their young children.

The couple married in July 2007 and have one of the strongest marriages in Hollywood.

Despite their A-list status, Damian has shunned a Los Angeles lifestyle choosing to bring up his family in London.

Wrapped up warm, the 43-year-old wore a thick coat, jeans and a baker-boy cap as he strolled around with Helen, Manon and Gulliver.

Carrying several coats and scarves for his children under his arm, the star looked happy and content to be spending his weekend snubbing the limelight.

Anna Karenina star Helen looked cosy and comfortable too as she kept warm in a fur lined coat and a thick knitted jumper.

Wearing pale pink jeans she matched with her daughter who was wearing pale pink corduroy  trousers.

The family had been at a children’s party in the area as mother Helen was carrying a kids party bag.

There’s plenty coming up for the acting couple with matriarch Helen juggling eight acting jobs, including the hotly anticipated To Appomattox which is also set to star husband Damian.

Always thought she had a nice figure, but an old, saggy face. This does nothing to dispel the notion. They must really be soul-mates!

Why is he wearing that daft hat and scarf? Is it because he is an "actor"?

She's only two years older than him and does not look like his mother. All those comments are horrid. Both very attractive people who should not be bothered when with their children.

I like this couple...they just do normal things and keep themselves to themselves. Not too extravagant and they don't seem to care what people think of them. Makes a nice change. :)

What? No DM readers droning on about wearing fur? Is that because they are strolling around in London and not Hollywood?

We always see Helen McCrory loud-mouthing it in style magazines and the Times Culture magazine, trying to come across as a minx or vamp... judging by these pictures, errrm, err, NO!
