He is famed for his moves on Dancing with the Stars.

But Val Chmerkovskiy proved that fitness is they key to his success when he displayed a chiseled body following a pre-show rehearsal on Monday.

The acclaimed dancer, 28, cooled off by stripping down as he left the studios in Los Angeles, California.

Wearing his fitted tracksuit bottoms and a pair of designer trainers, the TV personality looked toned and tanned as he crossed the parking lot to his car.

There, soaking up the attention - as well as the sun - he gestured to colleagues in the dance studio as well as awaiting fans across the road.

At one point he even threw at a look at the camera before driving of to the TV studios.

Fortunately, given that he has been dancing since a young age, Val has had plenty of time to work on his impressive physique.

Now an established dancefloor star, the award-winning performer is currently blogging about his experiences for Today.

Speaking about his return to the series - which is now in its 18th season - he said: 'I found out about a week before the big kickoff announcement and two days before I met Danica. I was in my kitchen watching SportsCenter when I got the call, so I felt like I was being drafted by the NFL.'

He also discussed his dance partnership with former The Wonder Years star Danica McKellar.

'I knew of Danica before I met her and I’m a fan of hers. I never had a lot of time as a kid to sit and watch television, but I remember The Wonder Years very well,' he said.

'I loved Fred Savage on that show, too. It was a feel-good show.'
