TV presenter Katie Piper has shown off her baby daughter Belle for the first time and said motherhood has given her ‘true fulfillment’.

The 30-year-old, who has undergone more than 100 operations to rebuild her face after she was badly disfigured in an acid attack in 2008, said returning to hospital to give birth had added resonance.

In an interview with Hello! magazine she said: ‘To have had my own life saved in hospital and then to be there giving life to this precious little person, I thought, 'This is why, this is what it's all about'.’

Katie, whose baby Belle Elizabeth was born by Caesarean on March 14, went on: ‘People used to say to me, 'It's a love like no other,' and I understand that now. She's so precious and I just feel so incredibly blessed to have her. She's our world.’

The former model - who has found love with carpenter boyfriend James - had been unsure whether she would ever be able to conceive after her medical dramas.

She said: ‘I already felt grateful that, after the attack, I'd managed to restore a life, have a job, friends, a social life, and I thought, 'You can't expect to have everything, this is enough'.

‘Then, to meet and fall in love with James, a man I knew I wanted to have a baby with and who makes me so happy, and now to have Belle - it's just amazing.

‘Most of all I want her to be happy. I thought I knew, after all that happened to me, what happiness meant, but having Belle has shown me what true fulfilment is.’

Katie looks sensational in the images accompanying the interview wearing white jeans with a sheer pretty pink top.

Her adorable daughter already has a smattering of dark hair and is swaddled in a pink blanket.

The star took to Twitter to announce the arrival of her bundle of joy just over ten days ago, telling her fans: 'I am delighted to tell you that our daughter Belle Elizabeth was born today! Overwhelmed with happiness. We can’t wait to get to know her!'

As Katie's due date approached, she has admitted to her Twitter followers that she was struggling with the third trimester of her pregnancy, as it is sending her 'crazy'.

She tweeted: 'This Baby is getting so strong it nearly pushes my hand off when I rest it on the bump! No more spinach for you missy!

'Constantly hungry! Have just brought a sandwich so I will have something to eat before dinner!!! Third trimester sending me crazy!'
