Fashion fit for Woodstock! Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960 label launches clothing - and it seems boho is most definitely back

By Misty White Sidell

Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 jewelry has proved a hit with Hollywood’s bright young things since its launch in 2009. So it was only a matter of time before the label expanded into clothing.

This week, first images from its debut womenswear collection were released – and the aesthetic is firmly in keeping with Ms Richie’s boho vibe.

Pieces include a floaty take on overalls and palazzo pants - both of which come in a loose, khaki green silk fabric.

There are also embroidered, bohemian dresses, and gold-flecked slip dresses.

Everything is priced between $60 and $300, and is available for purchase on House of Harlow’s website, as well as select retail stores.

Mother-of-two Ms Richie, 32, who is married to Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden, says she took inspiration from ‘eclectic European style.’

She added that the clothing collection brings her one step closer to turning House of Harlow 1960 into a fully-fledged lifestyle brand.

‘It’s been so gratifying to see the fan base that has grown for our accessories over the years so I’m thrilled to provide our loyal customers with fashion to complete their looks.

‘It’s exciting that House of Harlow 1960 is now one step closer to being a complete lifestyle brand.’

The former reality star regularly wears House of Harlow 1960 jewelry to high-profile events, as well as pieces from her previous fashion line, Winter Kate. Both labels reference the name of her six-year-old daughter, Harlow Winter.

Other stars, including Kim Kardashian and Vanessa Minnillo, have also been spotted in the label’s designs.

It has been such a success that in 2010 Ms Richie was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at Glamour magazine’s annual Women of the Year Awards for her design work on the label.
