Did your alarm not go off? Alexa Chung covers her pyjamas with a cream belted coat as she arrives to the Vogue Festival to talk about style

She was invited by British Vogue and to talk about personal style at their festival, but Alexa Chung manage to have a bit of faux pas upon arrival.

The TV presenter had to tie up her cream belted coat to cover up what could have been her nightie underneath if her tweets are anything to go by.

Alexa, 30, wrote on Saturday: ‘Arriving in pyjamas to talk about personal style at the Vogue Festival. #wardrobecrisis.’

The sunny day meant that Chung left her tights at home to show off her slim legs, with a pair of tan ankle boots to finish off the look.

Luckily she had an outfit by Osman Yousefzada with her before she got onstage at the Vogue Festival to talk about style with stylists Lucinda Chambers and Amanda Harlech.

The three fashionistas debated the definition of style as well as talk about how they put their own looks together.

Speaking of the British capital’s fashion, Alexa had nothing but good things to say: ‘the great thing about style here in London is that it celebrates our quirks and eccentricities.’

Chung also explained what style means to her: ‘clothes have always been about how I feel about myself and how I would like to feel.’

But despite having a wardrobe to die for, full to the brim with designer, high street and vintage clothes, when asked which piece of clothing she never tires of wearing Alexa said her ‘knickers’.

Upon her return to the UK from her home from home in New York, rumours have circulated that Chung may have been one of the reasons behind Chris Martin’s split from Gwyneth Paltrow.

The 37-year-old musician enjoyed a late-night milkshake with Alexa, at Glastonbury music festival in last June, with Jessica Goldsack, who served the pair, telling MailOnline: 'They turned up together at around 3 or 4am and came over to where I was working at Shaken Udder and said to me and my friend “what do you recommend?”

'They looked like they were just chilling and having a good time. I did find it a little odd that they were together - but we had a little chat and they wandered off after they asked us if we knew of any good places to go and have a few drinks.'
