Eto'o limps off with hamstring injury after terrorising Arsenal's defence with brilliant opener as Chelsea run riot

By John Drayton

Samuel Eto'o limped off with a tight hamstring after giving Chelsea the perfect start against Arsenal's permeable defence at Stamford Bridge.

The 33-year-old was replaced by Fernando Torres after rearing up with ten minutes on the clock, signalling a clenched fist to boss Jose Mourinho as he walked past him on the touchline to imply a muscle problem.

It took Eto'o five minutes to hit a brilliant opener - his 15th of the campaign, all scored in west London - and the Cameroonian would have been looking to bolster that tally against Arsene Wenger's hapless rearguard.

The striker, who has won the Champions League twice with Barcelona, has proved another shrewd Mourinho buy following his move from Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer on a one-year deal.

And after defying Premier League defences - and a barb about his years from Mourinho - surely Eto'o deserves a new deal at Chelsea, whatever age he is...

I look forward to seeing Eto'o trundling around the streets of SW3 on a Zimmer frame, befitting of his age.

When eto'o came to chelsea everybody was saying mourinho is a fool and he has too much ego to accept the fact that letting lukaku go on loan was a mistake. Well who is right now? Get well soon eto'o we need you - kenny abel, regina, Canada, 22/03/2014 14:47 Eto'o has 7 premier league goals this season... That's only 1 more than Skrtel. I wouldn't get too confident.
