The Environmental Literacy Center (E
LC) is located in the Nature Research Center, the new wing of the Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh. We have 2000+ holdings of books and DVDs such as educator guides, environmental curricula, North Carolina field guides, naturalist books, environmental non-fiction and children's books. Subject areas include environmental science, popular natural science, conservation, sustainability, museum and non-formal education practices and science education.

Services: The ELC is available for use upon appointment. It can be used as a meeting center and/or a resource center for anyone in the field of education. The resources can be used by educators and preservice teachers or for student research but the holdings are only circulating for DENR employees at this time.
Facilities Description: The room has 3 computers connected to the internet and our conference table has ports for power and internet if laptops are preferred. LCD projectors can be provided upon request. The ELC can hold groups of up to 25.
Holdings: Our resources are catalogued through the State Library of North Carolina. To search the catalog visit here and choose "Environmental Education Office" under "Library Location."

Either set up an appointment or stop by cubicle 3513F, around the corner from the library, on the DENR offices side direclty behind the Micro World Investigate Lab.
