U18 Justin Bridou European Championship 2009 - Hard for Czech Republic
Czech Republic take the first place of the Group and is promoted to the upper level.
After scoring 172 points in two games without conceding a single one, Czech Republic showed their ambition and started this final as favourites while their Swedish opponents fought a difficult semi-final against Hungary. Nobody was surprised to see the Czechs leading by 27 to 0 after forty minutes. But nobody counted on the tenacity of the young Scandinavians who were absent during the first-half, becoming a force in the second to score and convert three tries. But they woke up too late. The Czech Republic won this final and will be promoted to Group B in 2010.

In the match for the 7th place, after their defeat against Latvia, Austria is relegated in Group D.

Final ranking Group D:
1 Czech Republic
2 Sweden
3 Hungary
4 Bulgaria
5 Denmark
6 Serbia
7 Latvia
8 Austria
