It was a friendly battle of the bumps as Snooki and JWoww waltzed to the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.

Snooki attracted attention in a black and rose-patterned dress that featured a modestly cut square neckline and a pleated skirt that stopped just above her knees.

The high waistband was a comfortable choice for Snooki considering the growing belly beneath it.

Strappy beige heels and danging earrings finished off the bright ensemble.

Snooki, 26, who just entered her second trimester, said this pregnancy is different than her first with son Lorenzo, 20 months.

'This one is totally different,' the reality star told MailOnline. 'I'm working out and I'm in a better mood. I think it's because I'm exercising and not gaining a ton of weight.

'I like staying in still with my baby but I'm here today to have a little fun. This is probably the first one of these events I'm sober at so pregnancy changes things for sure.'

The pint-sized star took to Twitter to share a close-up snapshot - and plug her self-designed dress - before heading to the Nokia Theatre.

'Off to the #MTVMovieAwards ! Dress designed by me and my designer from #Snookilove Jason,' Snooki tweeted.

JWoww, who is about six months along, took the dramatic and glitzy route in a very low-cut, hugging black gown that also showed off her pregnancy tummy.

This is the first child for JWoww, whose real name is Jennifer Farley, and her fiance Roger Mathews.

Meanwhile, Snooki's due date in late August should arrive just in time for the big Gatsby-style wedding she's planning with fiance Jionni LaValle, who is the daddy to both her babies.
