Will J-Lo be the first to go? American Idol staff 'desperately search for new jobs as show gets threatened with the axe'

By George Stark

She arrived back on the judges panel this year after a year long hiatus that saw rival diva Mariah Carey take her seat.

But now it looks as though Jennifer Lopez' triumphant return on American Idol could be short lived.

Radar reports that staff of the show are on their way out after fresh concerns that the talent show will be axed.

Noting that the show lost out in ratings to the NBC show The Voice, the staff and crew of the show are 'desperate to find new jobs'.

Most recent winner of the show Candice Glover saw dismal sales of her debut album, reportedly selling a mere 19,000 copies in its first week on the charts.

An insider tells Radar: 'The crew and staff on Idol are not new to the industry and have been around the block before. They know a sinking ship when they see one.'

Adding: 'Anyone smart working on the show has already put out feelers for a new gig. The show is on its way out, and they don’t want to be dragged down with it.'

However, it seems Jenny From The Block has bigger fish to fry than a seat on the American Idol judging panel.

It was recently revealed that the star beat rapper Puff Daddy to purchasing the Fuse TV network.

The Dance Again singer and her NuvoTV company have won a fierce bidding war against her ex-boyfriend, successfully snapping up the music-oriented cable channel from The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG).

According to the New York Post, things got heated between the pair, who dated from 1999 to 2000, with both parties reportedly offering around $200 million for the prize and Jennifer finally emerging victorious.

The mother-of-two - who has six-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband Marc Anthony - was unveiled as Latina network NuvoTV's new chief creative officer in May 2013.

I don't know why the voice is doing so well, I feel if it's all about the voice then it should be a radio contest.

All these talent shows have a limited shelf life and Idol has definitely had a good run but even with big name judges the whole format has just become boring. With newer shows coming up all the time this one was bound to get the axe soon. I doubt any of the judges will be stressing about getting a job though! They were all just obviously doing this for a bit of extra cash and more exposure for their new music.

What will Jlo do now ..............host a game show?............ She can't sing a note, and can barely act her way out of a paper bag.

The irony is that Lopez went back to AI thinking/hoping that it would her dying career one more time like it did in 2011. But viewership is less that 9 million, nobody cares about the diva anymore and the ridiculous song she performed on the show flopped. The only reason for her return, besides the $$$, was to promote her music and it's not working.

The show is not exciting, there is no dynamic to it like the Voice. I saw this coming ages ago when I realised I didn't care to watch the show anymore and also if the winning artist actually became as successful as Kelly Clarkson,Jennifer Hudson or Carrie Underwood etc... it would be more popular but the show is long forgotten. BYE American Idol.
