They wear the vintage styles of the fifties and sixties every time they walk onto the Mad Men set, but Christina Hendricks and January Jones looked every bit the modern women on Tuesday.

The co-stars arrived to the launch of Choo.08, at Jimmy Choo’s revamped Beverly Hills store, wearing sophisticated black outfits that ensured their designer handbags and footwear stood out.

Christina opted for a pink ‘Charlize’ envelope clutch worth £775-£1,195.00, while January opted for the £590 limited edition ‘BLAH’ bag.

On her feet Hendricks had on a pair of black and gold ‘Fever’ heels (£695) to go with her fitted LBD, while Jones stepped out in some chunky ‘Hammer’ heels (£650) from the Jimmy Choo collection.

January looked chic in a black suit, trousers and black long blouse that certainly made her limited edition bag stand out.

She hung out with Jaime King at the event, which was put on to celebrate the new collection from Jimmy Choo that is meant to be less formal than the brand’s usual killer heels range.

Also in attendance was Jones' onscreen daughter Kiernan Shipka who wore a pair of 'Typhoon' heels worth £450.

The three stars celebrated the premiere of the seventh and final series of Mad Men on Sunday, at a party attended by many of the cast.

They will be saying goodbye to their characters of Betty and Joan having been in the AMC series since the beginning.

But Christina is hoping her curvaceous category goes out with a bang as the finale approaches.

'As a fan of the show, I want something horribly tragic to happen to her,' the red-headed 38-year-old told United Airlines' Rhapsody magazine.

'A terrible accident or something, because I think that would be interesting.'

January said at the Lucky beauty blogger conference that the timing was right for Mad Men to finish.

‘I do think it’s the right time,’ she told the audience. ‘It’s going to be next year that it ends; we still have a little while. But, I do, because I think we all want to go out when everyone still likes it, and not when everyone’s sick of it.

‘They might already be sick of it, I don’t know. I think our story is ready to be done being told in that way, but it will be sad, and I’ll miss everybody.’

Mad Men airs every Sunday at 10/9c, and on Sky Atlantic on Wednesday 16 April at 10pm

Christina has looked so good lately but this is not a flattering look for her. The funny thing is she looks really good in the third picture, where she is sitting down. But in the first pic, the shoe/boots and the dress conspire to cut off her legs and make her look tubby. Maybe it's the angle the photo was taken at. The high neck and the tight fit of the dress squashes her breasts, making her look matronly. The dress also adds a Buddha belly where I am pretty sure there isn't one! I think Christina is a fantastic looking woman but she needs to inspect herself from every angle before she goes out in an outfit.
