James Franco is shirtless in another bedroom selfie... day after he calls theater critic a 'little b****'
James Franco has been sharing some very revealing photos lately. On Friday he shared yet another of himself shirtless in bed, this time holding an apple slice.
This comes the day after the 35-year-old berated New York Times critic Ben Brantley, calling the venerable reviewer a 'little bitch' in a scathing tweet.
The Pineapple Express star made his first appearance on a Broadway stage Wednesday in the revival of Of Mice And Men, alongside Chris Dowd and Leighton Meester.
Apple slice anyone?: James Franco has made a habit of sharing shirtless selfies from bed, such as this latest one from Friday morning
At least he put a robe on: The social media devotee posted this shot from his home on Friday
While the show opened to mostly glowing notices from publications such as Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, the theater community's paper of record, The New York Times, was less enthusiastic.
The critique was hardly a pan however. In fact, Brantley seemed instead to be rather neutral on the play's charms.
'Such responses may bedevil you as you settle in for the respectable, respectful and generally inert revival of John Steinbeck's 'Of MIce and Men,' he wrote in regards to the play's familiarity.
'The presentation is lucid, stately and neutral,' Brantley continued.
Well suited: The actor was actually fully dressed for the Broadway premiere for Of Mice and Men, where he posed alongside Chris O'Dowd and Leighton Meester
Still, it was enough to set off Franco, who posted a link to Variety's fawning review and some pointed words for Brantley, in screaming all caps:
'Sadly
Ben Brantley and the NYT have embarrassed themselves,' the actor wrote.
'Brantley is such a little bitch he should be working for Gawker.com
instead of the paper of record. The theater community hates him, and for
good reason, he's an idiot.'
Franco has since removed the tweet.

Franco was busy on Instagram this week, also posting yet another shirtless selfie from bed, holding up a piece of an apple.
The caption read: 'APPLE SLICES IN MY BED - I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDNT SHOW UP!'
He later uploaded a shot of himself in a robe with the caption: 'MORNING SELFIE WITH SELFIE PAINTINGS IN BG.'
Those two cryptic shots followed similar selfies from April 11 of shirtless bed shots.
He told him: Franco had some strong words for New York Times theater critic Ben Brantley after the Of Mice and Men review was published
The first snapshot was a close-up of
James’ sleepy face as he rested on a white pillow in a yellow bedroom,
clearly not wearing a shirt.
‘GOOD MORNING - ARE YOU OUT THERE, baby?’ he wrote alongside the image.
James
quickly followed it up with another selfie, in which he revealed more
of his bare torso as he relaxed under crisp cotton sheets.
‘BREAKFAST IN BED. MISSED YOU,’ the 127 Hours star captioned the photo, in which a wooden tray was just visible.
To add to the actor's strange week, he issued and apology for trying to meet up with a 17-year-old girl after chatting to her on Instagram.
No
doubt he has been warned to behave himself following the outcry over
his flirtation with a young Scottish girl, who he met when she waited
outside the stage door following his Broadway performance.
After confusion over whether a leaked Instagram conversation between him and Lucy Clode was real or fake, James admitted he did try to pick up the Scottish schoolgirl via the picture sharing site and said he had shown 'bad judgment'.

Sleepy: The actor said he was enjoying breakfast in bed in the smouldering snapshots
After she shared a photo on Instagram a 'flirty' exchange of messages followed, in which he asked her age, if she had a boyfriend and if he should 'rent a room'.
The teenager shared screengrabs, which included two pictures Franco sent of himself to verify she was not speaking with an imposter.
'I'm
embarrassed and I guess I'm just a model of how social media is
tricky,' the actor said on Live With Kelly And Michael, debunking
theories that the exchange had been either an April Fool's Day prank or
part of a viral campaign for his latest film.
James did not address the fact that the object of his internet affection was half his age, but he was the one to bring up the incident and said that he did not expect the conversation to be shared.
'It's the way that people meet each other today, but what I've learned- I guess because I'm new to it - is you don't know who's on the other end,' he said.
'You get a feel for them, you don't know who you're talking to. I used bad judgement and I learned my lesson.'
The incident was a bit of life imitating art, as Franco stars In his forthcoming film Palo Alto as the lover of a schoolgirl, played by 23-year-old Emma Roberts.
On Monday, the movie hunk shared a shot of himself with his young costar on a football field.
