I just found this video from the Halloween Party, so now you can all see where Unicorns gain their Powers. Enjoy.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone that we are now holding a Make:Provo meeting every Saturday from 4PM to 8PM, followed by Game Night until we feel like going home. Be sure to check the Calendar page for any last minute changes to hours or scheduling before you come down. Everyone is welcome, so bring your projects, ideas and friends down to meet with your local hacker/maker community. We already had a couple new faces last week, and hopefully we’ll see many more in the future.
Below you should find posts of our more memorable moments as we ended 2010 here at the Transistor. We look forward to another great year of projects, making hacking, and having a jolly good time, and we hope you’ll all come down and be a part of the wonderful Utah hackerspace scene. Also, keep an eye out for an update in the near future about our recently completed MAME cabinet design and build. We’ll be posting our plans so you can make one too!
Peoples of the Internet, the Transistor is happy to introduce our first official board design release: The Gorduino. Designed by tT member Gordon Cooper, it is our favorite way to build a quick prototyping board out of one of our Minimalist Arduino Kits. Head over to the Project Page for schematic downloads and look below for pictures of the first production run of the Gorduinos.

A while back we had a few parts donated to us. Here is a picture of the modest shipment.
For our Halloween party this year Deven and Gordon decided to make a spooky drink dispenser. It featured a mummy and a cannibalized water cooler/heater jug assembly. We routed the hot pipes separately from the cold and served hot cider and cold punch. These are some of the build pictures.

While a bit late, here are some of the many pictures we have from the Zombie Defense game we did for the Take on the Machine competition back in October. Enjoy!

You may remember this post when we were visited by the Maui Makers. I happened across some pictures of the visit and thought I’d share them here.

Hi everyone. Just posting to let you all know what there will be no Arduino Night on December 25th due to it being Christmas.
We’ll be updating our website in the next week or two with pictures from the past few months of projects and Arduino Nights, and look forward to another year of making/hacking with the Utah Hackerspace scene. Cheers from the Transistor.
So, we’re all currently working away on the aforementioned Hackerspace Build-Off, but we’re not allowed to give out any details of it until after it airs. I’ll just say that things are going well so far, but we have a long way to go.
Anyways, given the moratorium on posting images and progress updates publicly for a while, here’s a picture of Max with a Mariachi Band to keep you all entertained.
Greetings everyone. The folks here at the Transistor have decided we’re going to start a Make:Provo group. If you’re interested check out the website at http://makeprovo.com. Our initial meeting will be Saturday June 12th from 6PM to 7PM. We hope to see you there.
P.S. We will have FREE Make:Provo decals for everyone attending the initial meeting!
Well, it’s been a couple months in the making, but I finally got my Nixie Tube Display working. There’s tons of details on the projects page, accessible here, but here’s a couple movies of it working, and me explaining it.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates the last month. We’ve been busy working on all our various projects. I’ll try to keep up-to-date in the future with current pictures of our projects and plans. Enjoy the heaping piles of pictures from the last two months we have for you to see posted below!
Since last the page was updated, we’ve made some organizational changes here at tT. We’ve moved the start time of Arduino Night from 5PM on Saturday nights to 6PM on Saturday nights. This is basically when people have been showing up anyways, so the change is just to match reality. We encourage anyone who’s interested to come down and have a look around, bring their projects or ideas and share them with everyone. It’s usually a fun time, with lots of cool projects, people, old-school gaming systems, and random silliness.
We’re also intending in the near future (or so Deven keeps telling me…) to update the website to have a store which will allow us to sell our Minimalist Arduino kits to anyone willing to pay for shipping in addition to the price of the kit. Currently we only sell them here at tT in Provo, but keep an eye out for this store to appear here soon.
We had a lot of fun at last week’s Arduino Night. Here’s delightful pictures of our adventures.
