Auto anything really stinks
PLEASE, don't refresh the news stories unless I physically do something to request it. There are dozens of apps where the user has to pull down the feed in order to refresh. Like Facebook. Or Mail. Auto-refresh creates a confusing user experience and is a bad idea.
PLEASE don't auto-play anything. It is very embarrassing to open a story just to have a video ad blare out of my iPad. Let me read the article and THEN decide if I want to see the video clip.
I would greatly appreciate being given the opportunity to decide how I would like to experience the Huffington Post articles.
Useless due to auto-refresh
I generally like the news and stories provided by TheHuffington Post. However, this app is useless at reading the news stories. The app constantly auto-refreshes, but as it does, it shuffles the "location" of each story on the main page. Stories at the top of the page I have read, move to the bottom while unread stories move to the top. It makes it virtually impossible to keep track of read/unread stories and the stories I wanted to read after the current story.
App support is non-existent, as I've written twice a week for the past month and half, and have yet to receive a reply.
Sketchy newsfeeds
I appreciate being able to tap onto a headline and be redirected to the story in question. However, what I don't appreciate it the random shuffling of news stories and headlines in the feed. While scrolling suddenly the location and organization of several stories all changes at once. I like the precious way better so that I knew where I was in the list of items I knew I wanted to read. This way I wasn't required to continuously reshuffle and do an egg hunt every time I want to read the news.
