Frames of Life — by Giorgio Armani

frames

Life is made up of a succession of fragments of moments, by different sensations and emotions, and our glasses accompany us along this journey like an object you cannot part with.  Rather than a mere frame with which we look at the world, they are the vital tool that helps us live every moment intensely.

For Giorgio Armani’s Spring-Summer collection, these “fragments” of daily life once again serves as the inspiration for Frames of Life, the brand’s new eyewear collection.

And Giorgio Armani has created a visually stunning short film that captures these fragments of daily life.  You can watch the full video here.

Beautiful.

Half Moon Rising

halfmoonrising

I’m not totally sold on the current nail-art phenomenon—sorry, Zooey Deschanel—but one manicure I do partake in on the regular is the half moon. Just this weekend, a gal pal and I popped into Valley Nails in Nolita, a neighborhood gem and a fabulous Instagram moment if you’re looking for nail-art inspiration. She went for plum and gold; I opted for a nude-and-black combo. After your nails dry, stop by the bar downstairs at Lovely Day to wrap up a perfect afternoon with your girls.

From Monday, February 24, through Sunday, March 2, Vanity Fair took over Los Angeles with its annual Campaign Hollywood celebration: a series of V.I.P. events and happenings with its exclusive advertising partners during the week leading up to the Oscars. Throughout the week, glasses were raised in honor of Hollywood’s best and brightest, from a toast to “Young Hollywood” with Fiat to a celebration with Chrysler and the cast of American Hustle; to D.J. Night with L’Oréal Paris and the Lancôme and Clarisonic Day of Beauty; to Leon Max and Benedikt Taschen’s celebration of the new sumo-size book by photographer Annie Leibovitz; to Vanity Fair’s legendary Oscar party, where Grey Goose and Stella Artois flowed for the A-list attendees.

socialclub

This year also marked the debut of Vanity Fair Social Club—a weeklong, invitation-only social suite for select influencers. Held at the creative coworking space, WeWork Hollywood, V.F. Social Club provided a chic and connected place for guests to drop by, plug in, and work from during the week leading up to the Academy Awards. Guests also enjoyed special programming and events such as editor panels on Oscar predictions and red-carpet fashion; a daily menu featuring Vittoria coffee, mornings powered by Chobani, and cocktails by Mionetto prosecco; giveaways from brands such as Giorgio Armani Beauty and Taschen Books via the V.F. Vending Machine powered by Twitter; and “hot” desks with devices provided by Dell.

Chrysler was the official vehicle for Campaign Hollywood 2014, providing V.I.P. transportation throughout the week for notables such as Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Anna Kendrick. #GirlBoss

Sophia Amoruso, founder and C.E.O. of Nasty Gal, shares her irreverent and invaluable lessons in what can easily be described as a power manifesto for strong, ambitious young women: her new book, #GIRLBOSS, on sale May 6. The fastest-growing online fashion retailer in the country, Nasty Gal was built by Amoruso (who is not yet 30 years old and has no formal fashion training) in less than seven years. #GIRLBOSS leads readers to water but doesn’t force them to drink; rather than present a get-rich-quick manual or a list of business tips, Amoruso teaches the innovative and entrepreneurial among us to play to our strengths, learn from our mistakes, and know when to break a few of the traditional rules. The book also is filled with photos and original, chapter-opening illustrations that beg to be shared on social media, where more than a million Amoruso fans live. Visit nastygal.com/girlboss.

Postable

postable

When it comes to sending mail, I’m totally old school: snail mail all the way. I love receiving greeting cards in the mail and I thrive on finding the perfect card for the perfect person on the perfect occasion. However, my biggest problem always seems to be tracking down someone’s real mailing address. Enter Postable: a streamlined online address book which provides its members with a custom Postable Web link that they can send out to friends and family. Once your peeps fill out their addresses, Postable automatically updates your online address book for you. The best part about Postable is that they also make exporting addresses so simple: there is an option to export to Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, or to even print labels (where was this technology during my wedding invitation process?). Thanks to Postable, “Return to Sender” is a no longer in my (or my mailman’s) vocabulary. Love.
