Fans throw flares onto the pitch and set fire to advertising boards after seeing their side concede in Bulgarian cup final

By John Drayton

Ludogorets Razgrad won the Bulgarian Cup for a second straight year on Thursday night, beating Botev Plovdiv 1-0 in the final, but the win was marred by fans throwing flares onto the pitch after the winning goal.

Shortly after Roman Bezjak’s winner in the 58th minute, the Botev fans threw a flurry of flares, which set on fire the advertising boards and toilet roll.

The referee suspended the game for 17 minutes, while several Botev fans ran onto the pitch and were confronted by the players.

A similar incident occurred last month in the Dutch cup final between Ajax and PEC Zwolle in Rotterdam, with the game stopped for half an hour after Ajax fans threw flares after their opponent's first attack.

The action prompted former goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar to enter the pitch and tell fans to 'Stop with this s**t'. Ajax lost the final 5-1 despite taking an early lead.

IF this happened in SCOTLAND. Ale Salmond would have the a special session in parliament to make as many new laws as he could think of on the spot, Have them rushed through and try deploy the army even though he has no scope to do so.

I think you will find there's a big difference between a domestic cup game in Eastern Europe and the World Cup finals so don't be so dramatic

If this happened in England (instead of the Netherlands and Bulgaria). it would be front page news globally for a week!
