'Horrible seats but hip hats': Actor Rob Lowe sends hilarious tweets poking fun at Air Canada rouge crew's 'jaunty hats'

Actor Rob Lowe has tweeted a series of hilarious messages about his flight with Air Canada rouge, comparing the cabin crew uniforms to 'Justin Timberlake in 2005'.

The former West Wing actor was flying from Kamloops, in British Columbia, when he started tweeting his humorous observations about the flight.

He wrote: 'Flying from set on the new Air Canada "rouge". Smaller seats but the crew now dresses like Justin Timberlake in 2005. #jauntyhats'

The star, who had been filming Monster Trucks in Canada, continued to poke fun at the airline, for its small seats and lack of legroom.

He wrote: 'People are irate on this Air Canada "rouge" flight. C'mon people! Who needs leg room or comfortable, regular sized seats when you have HATS!'

His followers loved his flight updates, 'favouriting' his comments hundreds of times and asking the actor to post pictures.

Air Canada rouge was introduced as a 'leisure' airline and launched last year travelling to Europe and the Caribbean.

Lowe, who recently admitted that it was hard to be taken seriously in roles when he was younger due to his 'sex symbol' status, continued with his witty messages from the flight.

He added: 'Dear @AirCanada Am looking forward to your "purple" airline with no seats at all and crew dressed as Prince during his Purple Rain period.'

The 50-year-old seemed to be particularly taken with the outfits of the cabin crew, later posting a pictures of their uniforms, complete with 'jaunty hats'.

He wrote alongside the picture: 'By popular demand, pic of the actually very nice crew of @aircanada rouge. #HipHats #HorribleSeats'

It wasn't long before the Hollywood star's followers took up the joke.

To which Lowe responded: 'I kid you not. Air Sexyback! Air StiffBack!'

And @lauren-kei said: 'who needs good seats when you have those hats? It's a no brainer.'

To which Lowe joked: 'EXACTLY! No one pays for comfort! Hats!'

But it seems, despite the uncomfortable seats, the actor had a good time on the flight, crediting the 'very nice' cabin crew.

Careful .. you've had some very dicey outfits yourself. Don't poke fun of folk who have no say in the clothes they wear - you did and still decided to wear them!

This is a discount airline within the Air Canada company. If Rob had investigated he could have paid full price and flown standard Air Canada with regular seat pitches. Westjet is far superior in quality and customer satisfaction anyway.

Rob is ageing really well, it's good that he is getting a second shot at stardom. Funny how his sex tape ruined his career and that vile Kardashian has made a fortune out of hers.

Currently working in Canada, I certainly agree with Rob. The airline is so cramped and yet, charges a fortune due to lack of competition within the country. It's rival being West Jet which I find preferable to Air Canada.
