MOS DIARY: Lily ‘grounded’ by husband Sam

Lily Allen has been ‘sent to her room’ by husband Sam Cooper,  who fears her partying has got out of hand.

Mum-of-two Lily bounced back on the  scene in February after a few years out of the limelight, and partied so hard that by May 8 she had been hospitalised.

Now Sam has issued his 29-year-old wife with a curfew. ‘Sam has told her she doesn’t need to drink  so much or stay up so late,’ I’m told. ‘He’s reminded her she’s a mum and wife and can’t live like she used to.’

But last week Lily was hanging out with ex Seb Chew in New York, while Sam stayed behind with daughters Ethel, two, and Marnie, one.

Is Beth Ditto losing control of her band The Gossip?

They haven’t released any new material for two years, but a spokesman for the larger-than-life singer – whose song Standing In The Way Of Control was a hit in 2008 – maintains that the band is very much still together.

Yet The Big Pink singer Robbie Furze, who has just recorded a duet with Beth, left, tells me the band’s original members Hannah Blilie and Nathan Howdeshell may be standing in the way of Beth’s solo career.

‘Beth is deciding whether or not to forge ahead as a soloist, she is the only recognisable member of the band so could get away with it,’ he tells me.

The dozens of paintings in the Notting Hill House of Lucian Freud, which narrowly avoided being destroyed when he let his bath overflow and the house flooded, have become the biggest gift to the nation in lieu of tax by an artist.

Freud’s 45 works by Frank Auerbach have been accepted in place of £16m in death duties.

The collection is on display at Manchester City Art Gallery and goes to Tate Britain in August.

I detect a flounce coming soon....she's had another five minutes of fame and will shortly trot off to become the Earth mother once more. I just wish she'd make her mind up and if leaving "fame" behind, just go and let that be the end of it. She's so immature and childish, I mean her only reason for coming back into the public eye is to get a seat in a top restaurant....something not right "up there" with her, is there?? her husband must be wringing his hands in despair..I also predict the end to their marriage if she keeps this up.

I liked Lilly Allen up until I saw her on Graham Norton. I didn't realise how childish and self-absorbed she is. One of the other guest's, Miriam (can't remember her last name) rightfully put her in her place. Lilly Allan was just plain rude and immature. Can't be bothered with her now.
