She's well RED! Actress Eva Green cuts a gorgeous gothic figure for The Salvation film premiere at Cannes

By Daily Mail Reporter

There's a rule in Hollywood that actresses shouldn't wear anything which may clash with a red carpet.

But acclaimed star Eva Green clearly ignored that when she appeared at the premiere of her new film The Salvation in Cannes on Saturday.

The 33-year-old actress stunned in a gothic red dress, complete with matching statement lipstick.

Featuring an embellished chest and a dramatic sleeve trail, the performer looked theatrical as she posed for photographers - raising her arms in the air to display her gown.

With her hair parted to the side, she looked classically beautiful without trying too hard.

She accessorised with a pair of matching high-heeled shoes.

The Danish western directed by Kristian Levring is set In 1870s America where a peaceful American settler kills his family's murderer which unleashes the fury of a notorious gang leader.

His cowardly fellow townspeople then betray him, forcing him to hunt down the outlaws alone.

I love Eva Green, but this whole look is a little too cartoonish. She's a stunning woman, but she needs a subtler style.

That's the perfect color on her, she's very pretty. I never saw her before last night, I watched the first two episodes of Penny Dreadful, which is dreadfully good.

Didn't like her at all in the Bond (007) movie she was in. It probably wasn't her fault, her hair and makeup in that movie were awful. To me she and Daniel Craig had no chemistry together either. Love the red Elie Saab dress she is wearing in these photos, but again her makeup is awful and she just looks weird.
