Tiger Woods may have more skill on the golf course than he does at the poker table, but he certainly knows how to be a good sport.

The injured golfer - recovering from surgery to relieve pain from a pinched nerve in his back - leaned on his girlfriend at the $10,000 buy-in charity poker tournament in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The 38-year-old golfer competed in the tournament hosted at the smart Mandalay Bay Hotel casino as part of the Tiger Jam weekend in support of his Tiger Woods Foundation.

American World Cup Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, also undergoing rehab for a right knee operation, was all smiles as she supported Tiger on the night.

The 29-year-old lit up the casino in a sparkly black dress and opened up on the night about her knee injury revealing she and Tiger were undergoing rehab together.

'Rehab is not a fun thing to do – it’s very monotonous and tedious and a lot of the same exercises over and over and over but its nice to have a partner to do it with,' she said.

'But if you’re going through rehab, it’s nice to have someone who relates to your situation and that you can talk to, rehab and train together,' she told CBS sports channel in in Denver.

For his part Tiger, who missed the Masters due to injury, said he would return to golfing 'this year' adding 'it'll be this summer.'

He said: 'I'm just practicing and strengthening, and trying to get back. ... no hurry.'

The annual weekend-long Tiger Jam affair kicked off on Friday with a clinic and continued into the evening when poker legend Phil Hellmuth teamed up with Woods to host a Poker Night presented by the World Poker Tour.

For a $10,000 buy-in, participants joined Woods, Hellmuth, Poker Hall of Famer Doyle Brunson and other great players for an exclusive night of poker followed by a Pre-Jam Party at Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay.

The annual event concluded with One Republic headlining a Saturday evening concert.

The Tiger Woods Foundation was created in 1996 by the legendary golfer and his father, Earl, and has reached millions of young people by delivering experiences and innovative educational opportunities for young people worldwide.

There are more than one hundred students attending college thanks to funding from the Earl Woods Scholarship Fund.

I'm really glad for Tiger. He suffered a whole lot of hate, and I think he's made a good comeback, his exwife is happy, and Tiger's relationship with her is good.
