Now Sir Mick is the GREAT granddaddy of rock 'n' roll: Jagger's granddaughter Assisi has given birth to a baby girl

By Sebastian Shakespeare

We are a great-grandfather. Just two months after the death of his fashion designer girlfriend L’Wren Scott, Sir Mick Jagger has received some joyous news.

His granddaughter, Assisi, has given birth to a baby girl.

Her arrival creates a remarkable milestone for Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick, 70, who can arguably claim to be the first great grandaddy of rock ’n’ roll.

We will have to wait a few more weeks to see if the sprog has inherited his trademark pout as Assisi’s mother, Jade, is believed to have negotiated a lucrative deal with a society magazine for a photoshoot.

At 21, Assisi, who lives in a converted barn in Cornwall with her boyfriend, 25-year-old chef Alex Key, is just a year older than Jade was when she gave birth to her.

Assisi said in an interview: ‘The women in our family just tend to have children young, it runs in the genes.’

Jade, 42, is herself expecting her third child this month with her graphic designer husband Adrian Fillary.

She had two daughters by Piers Jackson — Assisi, and Amba, 17.

Jade and Assisi partook in a rather unusual mother-daughter baby shower in March, following the revelation that Jade was six  months pregnant alongside Assisi, who announced her own pregnancy in November.

As befitting the broad-minded Jagger household, the baby shower was thrown by Jerry Hall, the Texan model widely considered responsible for breaking up Jade’s parents, Mick and Bianca Jagger, in the Seventies.

Sir Mick, who has seven children with four women, and four grandchildren, spent last week in rehearsals with his Stones bandmates ahead of their performance in Norway on May  26.

It will be the first time the group has been on stage since cancelling the Australian and New Zealand leg of their 14 On Fire tour after the death of L’Wren Scott.

The 49-year-old fashion designer, who was found hanged in March, had been in a relationship with Sir Mick since 2001.

What will Mummy the Ice Queen say about Bee's breasty selfies

Just a few weeks ago, Bee Shaffer, the  26-year-old daughter of American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, revealed: ‘I’m not that interested in fashion. I’m 5ft 5in and have huge boobs.’

Now television producer Bee — whose father, child psychiatrist David Shaffer, divorced Wintour in 1999 after rumours of her adultery with Texan tycoon Shelby Bryan — has taken to social media to prove her claim.

She has posted a photo composition in which she shows off her assets from various angles while dressed only in a black bikini and tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Bust a move: She may not be a model or into fashion, but Anna Wintour's daughter Bee Shaffer certainly knows how to work her angles

Bee disclosed that her mother — whose success in the cut-throat world of fashion has earned her the nicknames the Ice Queen and Nuclear Wintour — threw out the family Christmas tree last year before December 25 because it was ‘too messy’.

No doubt, La Wintour would approve of her daughter’s latest artwork.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Albert Finney and Stephen Fry celebrated the life of actor Peter O’Toole at the Old Vic yesterday. ‘His invincible mind and body will live in these walls and on this stage,’ said the theatre’s artistic director Kevin Spacey.

‘He once said: “How do I know I’m God? When I pray I find I’m talking to myself.” ’

Irish President Michael D. Higgins said his friendship with the actor, who died aged 81 last December, went back 44 years. ‘After I was elected President, he wrote to me not only to convey his good wishes, but impishly to suggest we could now both get good seats at Six Nations matches.’

Hope this brings him some happiness, Mick looks tired in that photo - grieving is exhausting, relentless.

I think most magazines should close up shop. Vogue is the worst offender in ads. You feel like a moron shelling out $$ for this advert. Some magazines still have some decent info, but most are rehashing the same old. and honestly, High Fashion? if you are well off and can afford, you don't need a magazine to tell you about it. Onto the Jagger clan..they seem like they worked it all out and everyone is contented with life. ITS a wonderful thing contenment.

Imagine being at a beach/pool lying near someone on a sun lounger taking pictures of their chest from every angle?! Very strange...

Assissi said..The women in our family just tend to have children young, it runs in the genes. I think it's about time Mick told her about the birds and the bees.

Congratulations on the new baby. It is very obvious Mick is suffering so much pain. There is nothing like grief to wreck you, emotionally and physically. I hope his new little grandchild brings him some amount of happiness.

These comments are terribly harsh. Mick jagger is an entertainer and a musician and is very good at it. He has suffered a devastating personal loss and the fact that he is a celebrity doesn't make it any easier to deal with than if he was an everyday person. Please leave him alone to grieve and to be with his family.

Anna should have left vogue after the 10th time she'd worn those sandals! She has no right being the editor of vogue (which we all know is a high fashion mag) if she can't exactly be fashionable! Damn it woman change those heels! I'll send you some of mine?

Give here a break, she is 64/65 and, after a lifetime in heels, her feet probably hurt like hell. The latest fancy cream is not going to solve it , only reliable comfortable shoes!

You took the words right out of my mouth , she has no idea how to dress and look current. She dresses like Sweet Baby Jane . Real style is Emmanuelle Alt .
